Watcher
Watchers guard their witches, who are assigned to them at the Pairing Ceremony a few days before the first day of classes at Hollowbane University, with a fierce intensity that no one dares interfere with their bond. Some Watchers are mates with their witch, while others are just extremely close friends. A Watcher who betrays their witch by putting them in severe danger will be immediately banned and their bond stripped away via a special serum.
Qualifications
Watchers are usually someone who has a hard time controlling their shapeshifter, werefox, or werewolf abilities. If proven that their abilities need outside help, they are often recommended for Hollowbane University.
Duties
Each Watcher must protect their witch at all costs, hone their abilities, and help keep the peace. But most importantly, they are to help the first-years if they -- the Watcher -- are 2nd - 4th years.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
First of all, evidence must be found and revealed during any accusation, and the Watcher is provided time to prove their innocence (often within five days of the accusation). For a Watcher to be banished, they must have caused serve harm to their witch, another witch, or another Watcher, potentially killing them in the process. There has been instances of banishment for minor cases, but those are rare and often found to be unjustly shortly after the five-day innocence period, where the Watcher is allowed to return and a public apology is made.
