The Godly War

The pilgrims living on Kairax at the time could not stand the sight of "demonic" entities and attempted to slaughter the Kerei. The Kerei fought back and over came the pilgrims, resulting in the end of the medieval era and the beginning of something brand new.

The Conflict

Prelude

The Kerei arrived on Inerth on the 21st of Fyram, 2137 EoS, wary of their new surroundings. As they made a home, the Kerei met the natives of the land, the Aplia, who were friendly and offered a place to stay. Seeing that they were welcomed, the Kerei began to build new structures and plant farms to help feed the Aplia for their hospitality. With the Kerei having advanced technology, they were quickly able create sustainable farms and tall skyscrapers. The Aplia were nervous of such structures and pulled away. Despite this, the Kerei offered them food and shelter instead of living in harsh conditions with unpredictable weather. The Aplia declined their offer.   As the Kerei continued to spread out, searching for new land and what it had to offered, they came across the pilgrims. Most of the Kerei seemed human, but their attire was otherworldly, with metal armor able to deflect arrows and spears and weapons unlike anything humanity could create. This disturbed the pilgrims, who began to view the Kerei as "demons" started to view the Kerei as "demons", and it wasn't long before the pilgrims saw the Kerei communities filled with sentient beings that took the shape and form of demons. The church agreed with the pilgrims that the Kerei were evil and attempting to corrupt God's world. With a swift decree, the church allowed the pilgrims to raise an army to fight back against the "demons" threatening everything they held dear.

Battlefield

The war began with the pilgrims attacking first. The Kerei didn't know what the pilgrims were doing as the pilgrims' weapons were primitive to the Kerei. Attacking in the name of God, the pilgrims attempted to slaughter any Kerei they came across. In return, the Kerei defended themselves, using their advanced tech as a means to break the pilgrims' spirits and get them to surrender without many casualties.   For two years, the pilgrims fought with such tenacity until the Kerei finally had enough. They used the the holographic electric shields to pin the pilgrims to one location and corral them into a transport ship, where they were taken north and released with the holographic shields blocking them from returning. This separated the new world into two factions, the Kairax and the Renaize Domain.

Aftermath

With the shields in place, the Kerei and the pilgrims are separated and living very different lives. Kairax serves as place of peace and prosperity, where technological advancement is seen as good. The pilgrims, however, see advancement as a sin, but are forced to accept that they need to use some of the Kerei's tech as a means to learn the Kerei's weaknesses to overthrow them eventually.
