Staff of Oblivion

The Staff of Oblivion is owned by Riley Norma. It comes from a special type of tree known as the hackberry tree. When the staff chose Riley, it saw his impulsiveness, optimism, intelligence, and ability of deduction. The staff also contains nobility, pride, and dedication. A staff such as this one will not settle for less than what it obtains to achieve in its lifetime. Its strict dedication and vision is what inevitably makes it feel proud and great.  

Design

One hundred and seventy-six cm (5'9") of grand hackberry forms the base of the Staff of Oblivion. An intricate intertwining metal cord models a decorative piece, which stops just above the handle that has been decorated with a few crystals.   The top of the staff is made out of first-rate bismuth crystals and has been crafted into a lantern-like shape, and has been decorated with gilded linings and a few small ruby and sapphire gems that seem to float gently above the surface of the staff.   The bottom ends in an ornate, crafted spider made of metal and has been decorated with countless metal spikes embedded with moonstones that grant lunar powers and changes colors depending on Riley's emotional state, but only when he is holding it.

The staff belongs to Riley, who was tasked with summoning the staff via whatever tree that called to him from within the demoniac forest located near the Spire of Eahagan. Upon entering the forest, Riley was instructed by his teacher, Gwydion Egyn to search with his magick for the tree that called out to him.   Once he found the tree, he was then to place his hands on the tree and reach out with his life energy to will the staff within the tree to appear to him. It only took five minutes for the tree to split open and the staff to push its way out to Riley, who took it in his hands and upon touching the wood, Riley heard a voice within his mind speak the name of the staff - the Staff of Oblivion.   Now, the Staff of Oblivion is not like any other staff within the universe. This staff has only been used once before and that was back on Eskǎvaëís, when Syus Nightingale managed to locate a powerful energy source while searching for the missing Lucifer. His search led him to a forest located to the east of the Blood Moon Lake on the continent of Chymoús.   When Syus took hold of the staff, a new power surged through him and he was able to access deeper portions of his Sun Magick. This raw energy allowed for him to carve a path out of Moon's guards that were keeping Lucifer hidden in a cave that led underneath the Blood Moon Lake. Syus and his mate, Ulrick Nightingale were forced to battle wave after wave of guards until they reached Lucifer and learned what truly happened.   Thanks to his freedom, Lucifer was able to plead with the Fates and prove that Moon was evil, thus causing a turn of events that let Darkness free to finish off Moon and free Eskǎvaëís from her control. Sadly, Eskǎvaëís was unable to be saved and they had to evacuate the planet, only saving 483,000 people from utter destruction.   One hundred years went by and Syus remained the owner of the staff until they found Earth, where he went in search a new home for the staff and found the demoniac forest, where he returned the staff to a hackberry tree to await its new owner.  

Magickal Effects

Upon creation, the staff was able to use simplified magick that wouldn't put much harm on Riley if he exceeded his magick limit. However, as his magick would increase over time, Riley would be able to explore the depths of how far he could go, such as delving into untamed magicks forbidden by the Sentinel of the Mystic.     The staff has the unique ability to cast a form of chaos magic, which is similar to the death magick and even blood magick, but with a high cost at the user's life energy. When the staff is accompanied by the Chaosnomicon, its powers are increased to where Riley can either take on an army by himself or explode with so much magick that it can wipe out half a country.   There are a couple of stipulations regarding death or relinquishing the staff. When the current user dies, the staff must be returned to the forest within twenty-four hours or it will explode with devastating chaos magick that has the potential to leave nuclear radiation in a massive circle spanning from ten miles to fifteen miles. If one relinquishes the staff, it causes the user to forget that they ever used it in the first place; it also forces the staff back into a hackberry tree within the forest to await another user.
