Exotic Pet Collar

Exotic pet collars are worn by Eternis slaves on Eternis Port. They are forced to wear it when they can no longer afford their living quarters payments and become property of President Itaoht. The tech resembles a high-tech metal collar worn around the neck, and was originally designed as a fashion symbol. It quickly became something that the elites enjoyed as a way to further suppress the citizens.

Design

When first designed, the collars were only made of chrome and welded closed around the slave's neck. No key was needed to remove it and the slave was bonded to it forever through a tiny need that embedded itself into the slave. If the slave were to attempt to remove it, the collar's self-defense mechanism would register a threat and inject the slave with a highly toxic dose strong enough to take down a traex.   Multiple types of collars were created after a test run with different sophonts, such as werewolf and griffin. With the iron collars, both were able to still use their abilities to transform, snapping the collars with applied pressure. Returning to the basics, the inventors of Eternis Port started looking into chrome, steel, and silver as possible substitutes for the others sophonts. Starting over and forcing the werewolves to try the silver collars, the new collar worked as the frequency and silver caused the werewolves' bodies to repulse when trying to transform, even to summon claws and fangs.

Function

The collars work to prevent those with powerful arcana or transformative forms from having access to it. Their bodies will openly reject using their abilities, causing harm to them in the process. And the collar isn't just a solid strip of metal enclosed around the wear's neck; it has a motherboard chip inside it that acts similar to an EMP and sends out wavelength frequencies that interfere with the arcane frequencies that flow from the other sophonts.

Social Impact

The slaves wearing the collar are looked at with contempt. It is a constant reminder that their lives have been forfeited in return to live and food to eat. They are officially at the rank of the social hierarchy within Eternis Port and can no longer rise to a higher position.   If an Eternis slave has a child with another slave, that child is also a slave and rejected from have a normal life. However, an Eternis slave that has a children with a non-slave or an elite is made a slave, but given the chance to serve a maid or servant of the elites. They have a slightly better lifestyle, but can easily lose their standing and start working as a standard Eternis slave.

Access & Availability
The elites of Eternis Port own the main access to it, providing one when a citizen of the Eternis Port cannot continue to pay to live there and has nowhere to go. Once given to the citizen, they cannot remove it without an access key, which remains in the possession of the elite that owns the former citizen.
