Coven of the Selobo
The Coven of Selobo is connected to the Eternal Hybrid, which is where the name "Selobo" comes from. Every member of the coven worships insects and protects them at all costs, seeing their deadly nature as a form of trauma the Eternal Hybrid endured.
Mythology & Lore
Each member knows the story of how the Eternal Hybrid came to be, linking him to all the insects throughout the known universe. It is said when an insect dies, the Eternal Hybrid can feel its pain, but if the death was caused by a mortal, the Eternal Hybrid enacts a form of revenge upon the murdered through karma.
Tenets of Faith
- Be kind and generous to insects, regardless if you have a fear of them.
- NEVER kill or harm an insect. Doing so will result in a torturous punishment, or perhaps death.
- If an insect is injured or weak, nurse it back to health. However, if the insect is found deceased, bury them and give them a small prayer as they enter the afterlife.
Worship
Every dawn, the members will pray to the Eternal Hybrid for blessed day of no strife and recite the tenets while letting an insect or arachnid sting or bite them. Throughout the day, the members are allowed five small meals.
By dusk, the members will kneel and pray once more, bowing their heads in submission, like ants before their queen. Between dusk and dawn, the members fast, only drinking water to sustain themselves.
Political Influence & Intrigue
Religious groups and governments have heard of the Coven of Selobo, often referring to it as a cult. It is far from that. With the Eternal Hybrid's power rising, more religious sects are allowing the coven to have a voice and establish ground. The governments are slowly learning to accept when political officials end up mysteriously bitten or stung by something that was never there.
There is a rumor that a young hybrid has joined the coven, searching for more answers connected to his psychic abilities to connect and speak with insects. Most members of the coven can use insectoid arcana and take up the entomancer profession. These people are known to be great assassins, changing the flow of the history with a single target.
