The Dwarven - Elven Accord

The Dwarven-Elven Accord was forged in 5100 BGW, marking one of the most significant alliances in the history of The Ancient Reach. As the high elves of Lumispire expanded their mastery of arcane arts, the dwarves of Dumathar unearthed drakthorite—a metal of unparalleled strength and magical affinity.

Seeing mutual benefit, the two civilizations came together in the halls of Kharak-Dur, agreeing to a pact that would shape the power dynamics of the Reach for centuries.

The Accord’s Foundations

Exchange of Knowledge – The dwarves agreed to teach the high elves the art of forging drakthorite. In return, elven enchanters would weave powerful spells into dwarven weapons and armor, creating the most potent tools of war and craftsmanship the world had ever seen.

Exclusion of the Dark Elves – The dark elves, fractured from their high elven kin, were deliberately barred from this exchange. Dwarven leaders feared that sharing such power with the dark elves would lead to destructive ambitions, a decision that further deepened the divide between the elven factions.

A Pact of Defense – The dwarves and high elves pledged to stand together in times of war, binding their kingdoms in mutual protection.

For over three thousand years, the Accord stood strong. Elven kings wielded blades of drakthorite, clad in armor resistant to all but the strongest magic, while dwarven forges thrived on the exchange of enchantments that bolstered their already formidable craft. Together, they formed an unshakable force that few dared to challenge.

The Accord’s Fragility – Seeds of Greed

Despite its outward strength, the Accord carried within it the seeds of discord. As the centuries passed, dwarven kings began to covet the wealth of Dumathar over the alliance, while whispers of ancient artifacts and the allure of the Crown of Dominion slowly crept into the heart of their leadership.

Maldrak Stonegaze, the future King of Dumathar, emerged as the figure who would ultimately fracture the Accord, though his descent would not fully manifest until the Fall of Lumispire.
