The Galakorian League
Structure
The Galakorian League is organized by smaller states that reside within the greater Galakorian state. All systems within Galakorian space are considered their own 'kingdoms', all of which fall into the larger league, led by the a single ruler. While each kingdom has a level of autonomy, all answer to the Grand Nervatai (roughly translate to Grand King) who serves as the ruler of the entire League. Rulers of other systems are known as Nervatai, and are selected directly by the Grand Nervatai. The Grand Nervatai is dynasty based, and the family in rule typically achieved power by violent means.
History
Galakorians have been a space-faring species for four hundred and forty three years. Before they achieved space-faring abilities, much of Galakorian history evolved around the Grand Nervatai, securing power around various parts of Galakor. It was not until 1450 when the Grand Nervatai secured complete power over the entire planet.
The Dynasty Wars
When Galakorians first took to the stars, it quickly began an aggressive expansion, similar to humanity's own expansion. However, their expansion was greatly hindered by a series of conflicts known as the Dynasty Wars. These wars, fought between Galakorian warlords, would last over a hundred years. These wars were fought because warlords quickly began to claim their own pieces of space and lands on planets, having no allegiance to the established Nervatai. These wars were fought between those loyal to the warlords and those loyal to the old guard, the Nervatai. The war seemed endless. It was not until the warlords banded together to formally fight for their independence that there were clear goals on each side of the conflict. Eventually, the Nervatai won the conflict, finally bringing peace to Galakorian space, and thus the Nervatai took their positions as the ruling class.First Contact War
According to Galakorian historians, the First Contact War began in 2106 when independent warlords came into direct contact with humanity in the Ferra Prime system, which was under the control of the Commonwealth of Man. There was an attempt of diplomacy between the two races, aboard the HSV Michigan. This attempt at diplomacy ended in bloodshed when warlords entered the ship and began to kill and plunder the humans on board. The warlords, who saw humanity as weak and an easy target, quickly besieged the planet of Ferra Prime and plundered the colonies planet side. When word reached the League that first contact had been made, there was an attempt to quell the situation. However, Humanity had already sent its fleets to Ferra Prime to reclaim the colony. While it was clear that Humanity had no interest in further diplomacy, the League did its best to stay out of the conflict. It was not until Humanity engaged League forces that the Galakorians League was forced to fight.Demography and Population
Before the First Contact War, League census states the population of its people to be roughly 22.7 billion. After the first Contact War, this number drops to 5.34 billion, over a 76% drop in population, mostly due to the orbital bombardment of Galakor.
Military
Galakorian fighters are known as brave and courageous. Their military is defined by their warrior traditions and battles are won by the Galakorian's ability to physically overpower their enemies. Galakorians are known for their lack of fear on the battlefield, and this is mainly due to the fact that Galakorian officers are authorized to kill any Galakorian who flees without proper order. This gives the Galakorians advantage on the battlefield, as they fear their commanding officers more than they fear the enemy.
Honor and tradition are key values in the Galakorian military. A soldier's worth is defined by his Waratel, a traditional belt worn by all soldiers that bare stories of one's ancestral achievements. Galakorian military leaders are chosen by those with the most impressive Waratel, and are pressured to add further glory to the belt. The Galakorians also hold a tradition where if the enemy commander is killed in battle, his body will be extracted from the battlefield, and then ritualistically eaten by the victorious officers, in hopes to gain knowledge. This tradition is widely out of practice in the modern Galakorian military, but examples are still seen from the more radical leaders, who wish to stay to tradition. A few examples of this was seen during the First Contact War, leading humans to the false believe that Galakorians eat them after they die.
The Galakorian Fleet before the First Contact War consisted of forty seven fleets. Now, it is estimated at the Galakorian Fleet sits somewhere between six-eight fleets, whose mission is mostly peacekeeping in Galakorian space.
Mythology & Lore
The Galakorians worship an ancient text known as the Mizule. The Mizule outlines the creation of Galakor, and is full of prophecies. It was successful in prophesying the creation of the Nevanti ruling class, several disasters and wars on Galakor, most recently, many believe it to prophesied the Dynasty Wars. Its original author is unknown, and it is regarded as a book of wisdom. Many Galakorians consult it before making important decisions.

The flag of the Galakorian League, the star in the center represents the sun found in their home system, the green crescented moon represents the Nevanti on the homeworld, the blue representing the Nevanti of the colonies, and the encompassing red circle represents the authority of the Grand Nevanti.
