Hard Light Technologies

Hard Light Tools (HTLs) are tools capable of capturing or projecting light, and then solidifying it into a certain state. This solid state of light is not only incredibly strong, but also very light. It has a multiple of uses, from utility uses such as creating tools, to militarized ones such as weapons.

Discovery

Hard Light Tools were first invented by Humanity in 2108, amidst the First Contact War. While Hard Light had been theorized for decades before, its first successful application came out of scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Hard Light Tools were used in many different applications, from weapons that could save a soldier's life in close quarters, to bridges that allowed troops to cross otherwise impassable terrain.

Accessability

Utility based Hard Light Tools are rather common, and sees many uses by different groups of people. In the civilian sector, most citizens use HLTs as utilizes, via the Apparatus. Apparatuses are small, watch like objects attached at the wrist, in which HTLs materialize from. Military modules for Apparatuses are expensive, and typically reserved for military and mercenaries.   Some corporations have used HTLs in larger applications, such as temporary bridges or barriers used at protests or demostrations.

Manufacturing

There are three main manufacturers who sell different modules of HTLs   Vemore-Fid Arsenal creates military modules. These modules have a range of applications, from CQB weaponry to deployable cover.   Inock Labs creates civilian sector modules. These modules have a range of applications, and most humans purchase several modules. These modules range from screw drivers and hammers to cutting knives and pickaxes.   Luso Services creates modules more in line for corporations. These modules have a range of applications from bridges for vehicles to cross, barricades in riots, protests, or shows, or temporary walls.
