Genesis

Genesis is a Human colony owned by the Commonwealth of Man. It lies within the Primus Sector, in the star system of Ferra Prime. It is the location where the The First Contact War began.  

History

Humans first landed on Genesis on February 22nd, 2058, and colonization efforts followed quickly after. The planet was found to have high amounts of raw materials, making it a prime location to establish mining and production efforts. Despite the cold conditions, Genesis attracted hard working colonists, many of them being of British (English, Scottish and Irish) descent. The colony grew quickly, and by 2090, it was a strong, industrial powerhouse. Large population centers were formed, and the three largest, Eden, Zion, and Jericho, quickly rose in population, becoming large cities. Eden would be established as the capital of the planet.

The Rise of Crime

Crime begin to quickly take a strong grip on the colony of Genesis. Each city saw many gangs begin to take root in the dark corners of alleyways and the streets. In the city of Eden, the Fusiliers rose to power. Perhaps the strongest and largest of all gangs on Genesis, the Fusiliers are criminals with a code of sorts. They represents the bane of the ill-gotten gains received by the mega corporations who have taken advantage of those on Genesis. They would often steal from goods stockpiles and warehouses and distribute the lower class for a lower price than the stores would sell for. Other notable cities gained infamous gangs, such as the Zion Swatters and Jericho Trumpeteers, both worked in much more violent means and often robbed and stole from the people. Many residents resort to crime out of desperation. After the First Contact War, crime rates rose even higher due to the destruction of the colonies.  

The First Contact War

The First Contact War began on Genesis. The Magistrate of Genesis, Ian Olla, was known as a greedy man who would seek anything to rise in political power, and in 2106, another prime opportunity seemed to rise for the Magistrate in the form of alien contact over his colony. The HSV Michigan was a diplomatic vessel used by Magistrate Ian Olla. Reports state that the HSV Michigan received alien communications in the early morning of June 24th, however the Magistrate ordered his men to not report the communications to any higher officials. It is speculated that the Magistrate may have done this to seek political gain in the killing or befriending of an alien force. The Magistrate invited the Galakorians onto his personal vessel. Despite an unclear story of what happened on the HSV Michigan, it would be completely destroyed by the Galakorian ship roughly an hour after the Galakorians boarded the vessel. After the destruction, a larger fleet of Galakorian ships entered the system, and immediately began occupying the planet of Genesis by force. The small garrison was quickly overrun, and with panic and confusion spreading about the colony, it quickly fell to Galakorian warriors. With communications cut off and the planet surrounded, it seemed all hope was lost for the small, cold colony. However, a single ship was able to eventually slip past the Galakorian blockade, the HSV Buster, commanded by Captain Johnathan T. Ganzer, and quickly brought word of the invasion to the Commonwealth. Three days later, the First and Second Fleet of the Commonwealth arrived, liberating the planet.  

Exports/Imports

Mainly Titanium, Copper, Lithium. Including some others.   Genesis is a fairly self sustaining colony, producing its own raw materials and refining them. Most of the produced goods sent off world are refined metals, the most important being Titanium. Above the planet is an orbital shipyard which builds warships for the Commonwealth’s fleets. The cities Eden and Zion, the “Shining Jewels” of the planet, commit most of if not all of their production capabilities to refining the metals which are mined from the planet itself. Jericho splits its factories fairly evenly, half of them producing consumer goods and the other half of them refining more metals. All of the cities had access to Genesis' vast mine system which produced it’s raw materials.  

Androids

As Genesis is a planet with Industrial Mega-Cities, there is a large number of androids doing many laborious jobs that humans can’t do easily. Most of these androids aren’t as smart as more modern variants as all they do is intense manual labor. Every mining job would be filled by an android.
