Central Worlds

Forged in the darkest of times now stands the age of Empires & Kings.

Written by Charlie Parker

Bordering on the Primal Ring where empires & kingdoms reign. The Central Worlds is the heart of civilization home to key factions that drive commerce & innovation throughout the aether. Though there are several empires none rival the grandeur of The Celestial Empire built upon the largest fragment left of the first world. The empire was forged from the dust left behind after the galactic upheaval, now it sits as the wealthiest empire in the whole of the known aether. Although the Celestial Empire is the wealthiest it however commands the smallest territory relying heavily on the trade fleets of the Merchant Marines.
With all their lavish wealth nothing of the Celestial Empire compares to the marvels found within the Gnomish Consortium. Their tinkering are renowned throughout the aether, mechanical creations of all forms have brought the Consortium great wealth & influence. From clockworks to the latest in luxury aethersailing craft the Gnomish Consortium is the heartbeat of technology.
While the long standing empires of the Elvin Republic & Dwarven Empire have deep rooted traditions that carried them through the upheaval. Both empires have long histories that have required little from outside their communities, though not isolationists both tend to keep to themselves. These empires along with several other independent colonies rely on the Halfling Empire or the Merchant Marines for trade. The Halfling Empire maintains the bulk of the Central Worlds trade routes, while the Merchant Marines have trade routes than span most of the known aether.

Geography

The aether within this region is thick, some worlds are known share atmospheres with the aether making them almost invisible & ghostly. Though the environment is stable navigation is tricky, in some locations deviation from the trade routes is often fatal. This region though largely stable is subjected to frequent storms that drift in from the Primal Ring, these slow moving but intense storms are generally easy to avoid.

Fauna & Flora

Life within the Central Worlds may seem sporadic at best compared to that of the Border Worlds, it however remains home to many rich & exotic ecosystems. Most notable of the region are the diverse species of aether dwelling avian populations. Though diverse most avian colonies are brightly colored tropical like there are however large predatory colonies that dwell on the fringes of the Primal Ring.

Natural Resources

The destruction of the galactic upheaval was hardest on the central worlds, many torn to pieces & scattered about their stars. Though devastating the resources once locked within the planets were now easier to access. It is for this reason many choose to remain after the upheaval, these resources sustained the forging of empires.
