The Assembly of Guilds and Merchants - AGM
The (AGM) is the body that represents the interests of Guilds and Merchants in MP at the Conchinate. Intended to ensure that there is fair and equal trade and commerce that benefits citizens, business owners and guilds alike. However below the surface, corruption is rife and one group within the AGM dominates, The Merchant Baron Guild or MBG.
Whilst every guild is invited to attend, there are those that are able to throw more weight around than others, and the MBG have enough weight to cause planets to wobble on their axis. Whilst they may dominate the majority of the decision made by the AGM, thee a re few other notable voices to be heard. The University of the Unknown and the Adventurers Guild both wield powers to force through legislation in the event of a Mah-jeekle or Monster related emergency respectively.
However the power of the AGM is argued to be to great by a growing number of people, and many are growing angry at the increasing disparity between the members of the AGM and the general populace. In response the AGM has brought about a number of laws in recent cycles that prevent large numbers of people from gathering outside of designated times and areas, and stepped up the punishments for any found trespassing on AGM members property.
