Auntie Kathie; Patron of 101 Things

"Over my long years of documenting the Cleansing, I meet many powerful beings, ally and enemy alike. I witnessed Gods do battle with abominations that I still have yet to find the words to illustrate. I have negotiated with dragons, seen contracts signed with devils, and spectated the summoning of demons for binding. In all those years, I still have yet to meet a being who emanates power like Kathie. The Lost Order was lucky to call her patron, else their war would have been lost from the onset."

At a glance, Auntie Kathie is a kindly older woman. She walks with a slight limp, and leans upon an old wooden cane. Her hunched back is covered in a violet shawl that casts shadows over her friendly face, illuminating a few wisps of loose grey hair. She smells of lavender and sage. Smile lines and other wrinkles line her face. She greets people as 'Dearie,' and those speaking with her often feel a sort of familial connection. She can always be found in her old shop, 101 Things.

Like it's owner, 101 Things is a normal aged shop, with a weathered timber frame and cedar siding. Through the cloudy front window, one can glimpse countless cluttered shelves populated with many odd items. Entering through the creaking door causes a small bell to chime. Upon entering, visitors will always find Auntie Kathie busy with some supernatural task, whether it be cleansing spirits from a seance, or binding a demon, or cleaning up the remains of some undead. The shop carries a collection of both magical and mundane items, some from ancient ages, and others completely unique. Many of these items seem to have 'useless' properties, or other odd niche enchantments, however it is not uncommon to see the former blade of a king, or a tome of an arch-mage upon her shelves. Kathie will often part with these items at a significant discount if she senses that the buyer is in dire need of the object they seek. Although she always dodges the question, anyone who manages to frequent this shop frequently always seems to question the purpose of the business, as Kathie clearly is not in need of gold and seems to not worry about turning a profit off of her items. All of her transactions seem to be a game to her, with negotiation being important in her dealings.

Considering that Auntie Kathie is always in 101 Things one would imagine that she is very easy to find. This could not be further from the truth; 101 Things travels around the planes, seemingly being located wherever Auntie Kathie pleases. It often appears in rundown sections of towns placed perfectly between other structures. Other times it appears in a clearing in the woods, or in a sunlit chamber of a cavern. The location is always wherever she is most needed. People who live in the area never notice the new structure, behave as though it has always been there, and seem to forget it's presence after it is gone.

This enchantment upon 101 Things was woven eons ago by Kathie, allowing it to move about the planes aiding those in need. Kathie rose to power well before documented history began, becoming an arch-fey. Like many of the fey, Kathie works in strange ways. She is an immensely powerful witch, but despite this, she rarely directly involves herself in problems of the planes; Kathie prefers to select some mortals of each age to help manifest her plans. She aids these chosen by appearing in their journeys in 101 Things, bearing items for sale that will aid their quest, offering cryptic advice for their future challenges, and bringing them news from about the planes.

Kathie's goals seem to align with many of the Gods and the Lost Order; To protect the plane of Kunnow from the Eldur's activity. That said, she chooses odd representatives for one with such a goal. Many times in the past, Kathie has offered her boons to those who seek to raise Eldurs, channel their powers, or preach their word. Despite this, all the powers of good in the planes bend their knee to Kathie, and the forces of evil fear her wicked eye.

The Replacement of the Feywilds

Kathie has directly influenced the war of the planes in a few notable instances. Certainly the most disastrous and impactful was the transformation of the Feywilds. Due to an Incursion by Ellthnfinis, the Eldur of Endings, Kathie was forced to sacrifice the plane to bind him. Weaving a great enchantment upon the plane, Kathie replaced almost all of the plane with an endless city. She forced Ellthnfinis to consume the city each day, replacing it with a unique version each time. This destruction keeps him bound to the plane, imprisoned within it's shadow.

Auntie Kathie's History

When asked about her history, Kathie is dismissive and claims she is 'just an old lady tending to her shop.' Kathie was nearly a god. She undertook a ritual of ascension, but rejected it upon learning of the Eleventh Truth. Using the powers she had gained during the ritual, she left the plane to an extradimensional space she found. She studied the weave here for decades, gaining unrivaled control of it's weaving. By then her hands were wrinkled and the world lost in the insanity of the Eldritch. Kathie then wove the enchantment upon 101 Things, and began traveling the planes.
