Charmote the Great Flame is an ancient red dragon that lived below the surface of Merope, residing deep within his lair that was said to be at the center of the earth. Charmote was revered in the kingdom's ancient history, but disappeared long before the mind flayer invasion. His last seen appearance was roughly 65 years before the Age of the Brain.
Although many have begun to speculate whether Charmote was just a myth or not, some people believe that one day, Charmote will reawaken from his slumber and raze Thauzuassk with dragonfire, cleansing the world from its mind flayer infection and making way for a new Merope to be born.
