Thalun-Feldnor

An ancient continent on the world of Tha. Essentially it is the only part of the world that has naturally appearing magic. In ancient times Tha, an overdeity, created the universe, with earth. At this point Earth was in Pangea. Because there was only one landmass all of the Humans, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, Goblins, etc. warred. Eventually a great human cleric told Tha about this. To end the war she split the world into continents. One of the continents was called Thalun. On Thalun resided the great Drakken, the first dragon, who wished to overthrow Tha. The continents besides Thalun began to forget Tha existed, and replaced her with new gods. Drakken began to amass a great following, and his ambition to destroy the weakened Tha grew. He began to destroy her fervent worshippers and holy sites. Tha became weaker and weaker. As a last ditch effort to protect herself, Tha split into 12 forms. The forms hid around the world and Drakken could not find and defeat them. Importantly, one other thing happened when Tha split. 50% of her became the 12 forms, and the other 50% fell to the earth and became magic. With the first magic, human followers of Tha, and her 12 incarnate forms, cast a great imprisonment spell on Drakken. He was chained under the earth, and it was said that when he thrashed underground he created earthquakes on the earth. In his prison he, with his multiple breath weapons, formed a grand abyss under the earth. He populated this abyss with elementals, living forms of his elemental breath. These became demons. On Thalun, the people began to study magic and worship the 12 forms of Tha (the zodiac). Everyone eventually forgot about Tha, and only worshipped the 12 forms. Some cults of Drakken did exist. In this time of peace the first legendary archmage, known as The Elden, became the "lord protector" of Thalun. Time passes, and another continent "discovers" Thalun. The people of this other land became obsessed with magic, and sent news back to their home continent, called Gwent. Feldrick of Gwent, the ruler at the time, called for full colonization of Thalun, which he renamed Feldnor. It took 100 years to fully colonize Thalun (now Feldnor). During this time, more and more cults of Drakken appeared, because of the panic felt by many of those on Thalun. The cults of Drakken put out one final plea to Drakken for salvation. This plea was heard by Drakken, and he plotted a way to destroy the colonists. Meanwhile, the independent Kingdom of Feldnor was created, with full control over the continent. The Elden was sealed in a demiplane. For a long time peace was manifested in Feldnor. There were many advancements in the fields of science, magic, religion, etc. But, in 817 EF (era of feldnor) a court diviner forsaw the destruction of Andromeda, the capital of Feldnor. The diviner saw spikes and mountains shooting out of the ground, a great fiery earthquake destroying the Royal Palace. The court and King attempted to help this, but nothing could protect them. In 821 EF (the 700th anniversary of the Kingdom of Feldnor), the capital was swallowed by the horrific abyss, becoming a yawning portal to Drakken's ancient prison. Drakken lays at the bottom of the dAnK abyss, so he still cannot influence the realm of Feldnor. Without Andromeda, and the royal system which had ruled for 700 years, Feldnor was swallowed into fear and chaos. Many factions vy for control of the land, because the government doesn't exist. That is Feldnor.
