Barbarian

System for Multi-Classing into Barbarian

1. Survival Training

Barbarians are known for their strong survival instincts and connection to nature. To begin the path to becoming a Barbarian, the player must first undergo survival training. This could be through a formal lesson or by spending time in the wilderness.

How to Complete:

  • The player must spend time with a seasoned wilderness guide or in a natural environment, learning to hunt, track, and endure the harsh elements.
  • This training could require the player to complete a series of tasks: building a shelter, foraging for food, navigating through dangerous terrain, or hunting a creature.
  • The player might be required to make Wisdom (Survival) checks to prove their understanding of the environment.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player must demonstrate their ability to survive and thrive in the wilderness. They may be tasked with a series of challenges or a mini-quest to show they understand the Barbarian lifestyle.

2. Arena Practice

Arena practice represents the Barbarian’s prowess in physical combat. This training is focused on honing raw strength, endurance, and the ferocity needed for battle.

How to Complete:

  • The player must enter combat with a series of gladiators or wild beasts in a controlled arena environment.
  • The player must complete several fights or endurance tests, learning to embrace the chaotic nature of combat.
  • This could include Strength and Constitution checks to measure the player’s physical ability to withstand damage, fight for long periods, and maintain focus.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player should complete a set number of arena battles (perhaps 3-5).
  • They should earn recognition from the arena master or a Barbarian mentor who acknowledges their readiness for the path.

3. Weapons Training

Barbarians are often known for their combat prowess, particularly with melee weapons. The player must train with a variety of weapons, from simple clubs to great axes, to be truly ready to wield a Barbarian's strength.

How to Complete:

  • The player must train with an experienced weapons master or engage in practice matches using a specific weapon that aligns with Barbarian combat style.
  • The training might involve using weapons such as great axes, warhammers, or simple clubs.
  • This would include Strength or Dexterity checks depending on the weapon chosen, with some special exercises requiring Constitution checks for stamina.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player must master a combat style, showcasing proficiency in at least one weapon (preferably melee-focused).
  • They could demonstrate their skill through a sparring session, testing their knowledge of weapon strikes, dodging, and using the environment to their advantage.

4. Gladiator Ring Level

The Gladiator Ring is a key component of the player's training and an important part of their path to becoming a Barbarian. The Gladiator Ring tests their skills in increasingly difficult combat situations, which helps the player prepare for battle in the wild.

How to Complete:

  • The player must earn a rank in the Gladiator Ring by defeating progressively stronger opponents.
  • These battles would involve facing a mix of human fighters, animals, or even monstrous creatures, representing the wide range of threats a Barbarian would face.
  • After completing a certain number of matches, the player must face a Champion of the Gladiator Ring to prove their might.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player must reach a certain Gladiator Ring rank (e.g., Bronze or higher) to show their proficiency in combat.
  • The player should have fought a specific number of matches (perhaps 5 or more) and survived each encounter.

5. Guild Quests

Guild quests are a way for the player to prove their loyalty to the Barbarian way. These quests often involve proving one’s ability to tackle tough tasks that require both strength and intelligence.

How to Complete:

  • The player must undertake a set of dangerous guild quests that involve tracking down wild animals, raiding dangerous locations, or protecting the guild from threats.
  • Quests could involve both combat and survival tasks, such as defending the guild from an attack or bringing back valuable resources from a remote location.
  • Some quests may require Wisdom (Perception) and Constitution (Endurance) checks to track and survive in hostile environments.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player must complete a series of guild quests (e.g., 3-5 quests) to prove their dedication to the Barbarian lifestyle.
  • The quests should vary in difficulty and involve challenges that test the player’s strength, willpower, and knowledge of the natural world.

Finalizing the Multi-Classing

Once the player has completed all of these tasks, they can approach a Barbarian mentor or a guild master to be initiated into the Barbarian class.

Completion Criteria:

  • The player must demonstrate mastery in all required aspects: survival, combat training, weapon proficiency, gladiatorial experience, and the completion of guild quests.
  • The player should receive a blessing or mark from the guild or mentor, allowing them to multi-class into Barbarian.
