Kingston

Just like many towns and cities within Skydria, Kingston is led by a Duke and Mayor pair to handle different city affairs. Due to Kingston being the captial of the Isles of Awyr, the Grand Duke and Governor live in the city to governor the rest of the region.

The Red Dragon Knights has a periment small base of operations within Kingston, all Red Dragons will be recalled at a moments notice if anyone found out Kingston was in threat of being attacked. Kingston has the most elobrate air defenses out of any city in the world besides Fairfax itself. Only a fool would directly attack Kingston head on with an air fleet. Kingston mystical magic gateways are also well protected on the surface as to allow no army to pass as Grand Duke Andrew Hellington's did long long ago.

Kingston is the main trade hub for the Isles of Awyr due to the amount of sky dock yards surrounding various of different big and small floating islands. During the Age of Invention Kingston became quickly polluted with large factorys to export valuable mass-produced basic parts to make airships for the dockyards.

Kingston has 30 different airship and skyship dockyards for government, private and commericial use making the most out of any city in the world. It also has 3 large factories located on different islands, with many smaller factories sprinkled about.

Kingston was founded after the Hithel Expansion War in honor of King Casper of Hithel after he died. The city was founded by Grand Duke Andrew Hellington in the ruins of an old Athiean city that was burned down by the Mother of All Dragons. It is told in legends that Andrew Hellington made a deal with the Mother of All Dragons to become the protector of the dragons. Shortly after Andrew Hellington made Kingston his new seat of power within the Isles of Awyr and founded the Red Dragon Knights in Year 526 Age of Antiquity.   During the beginning Age of Darkness, Kingston grew to be the biggest city in the region as it became a safe haven away from the Great Plague. Although just like all of the Isles of Awyr, many people from all over were rejected to live as Kingston was very selective of who could be brought up to the city by the Dragons and the special magical gateways on the surface. In Year 64 of the Age of Darkness, a large fire would erupt golfing much of the original city in flames. This would forever be known as the Great Kingston fire, and it would take 100s of years for Kingston to fully recover as 80% of the city. Notable buildings that have survived were the Red Dragon Inn dedicated to the Red Dragon Knights and the castle keep.   When self-proclaim King Hellington the Great of Fairfax rose to power within the Isle of Awyr the Grand Duke was the first to show his support of the King, willingly gave the Isles of Awyr to him to rule and gave his order of Red Dragon Knights to command. After the Skydrian Unification war, King Hellington the Great still allowed Kingston to be the capital of the Isles of Awyr, while Fairfax was to be the capital of the whole newly form Kingdom of Skydria.   It was Kingston that the Diamond Peak Dwarves decided to build Skydria's first airships at during the end of the Age of Exploration and beginning of the Age of Invention. Due to this, many large shipyards pop up along with factories that quickly polluted the area. During the middle of the Age of Invention Kingston became well known to be a dangerous crime ridden city, with corrupted police and government officials, harshly stopping any worker rights riots. During the end of the Age of Invention, most of the corruption was cleaned up the Grand Duke at the time as he decided to take matters in his own hands and challenge the Duke of Kingston to a duel for the right of leading his city directly. The Grand Duke won the duel and killed the Duke of Kingston. From there he personally got rid of every government official at the time, corrupted or not and built up a new government and used the Red Dragon Knights from the Royal Skydrian Army to be law enforcers until a new police force was formed.   During the Age of Conquest, Kingston still remains to be a very important city and trade hub, with its shipyards forever building new skyships. Crime is still a major issue within Kingston, with corruption in the local government slowly beginning to fester once again, the current Duke and Mayor must make careful choices as to not fall to depravity once again.

The city of Kingston is far into the sky on a series of floating islands within the Isles of Awyr. For many people being in the Isles of Awyr in general can be breath taking but Kingston has its own natural beauty.

Due to being a set of floating islands, Kingston doesn't have much natural resources to offer besides non-natural self sustaining ones.
