Hearth Pyre
A Northfeir ritual to lay a withering Tal-Enki to rest. It involves building a pyre out of pieces of the abandoned home and bidding the Tal-Enki to enter the flame. A customary recitation coincides with the burning:
Spirit of this home, come. See your dwelling as it is; forgotten and empty. No hearts to warm, no minds to calm, no life to watch over. The hearth will soon lie cold forever. Come, lay yourself on this, the final burning of the hearth, and find sleep, for your work is done.
After this recitation, the pyre will burn strong and high for a few seconds, then fall to nothing but ash. This is evidence that the ritual is complete, and a Kual-Ko'Tan will not rise.
