Mageblight can best be described as a magical infection, manifesting as a magical-induced physical decay or rot.
Causes
The cause of mageblight is unknown, however some theories include
- prolonged exposure to magically unstable environments, like Weavestatic Sandstorms or the regions of the Zeric or Gandeiric Oceans
- prolonged, close-proximity exposure to charged, high capacity magical crystals without proper protective measures
- protracted overuse of extremely powerful magic or magical items
