Inductive Shielding
Inductive shielding is, at the moment, an experimental technology. It involves using magical energy and crystals to generate a field around a central catalyst. The hope is that this technology will allow airship travel not only through the magical storms of the Al'Biq Desert, but potentially the Zeric and Gandeiric oceans as well. Beyond that, harnessing this type of reaction in reverse could also lead to faster and cheaper travel through its propulsive and recharging characteristics, respectively.
Utility
In theory, by propelling magical energy linearly through the center of a partially-ringlike crystal structures in a three-dimensional area around the central catalyst, a highly incorporative magical stream can be formed surrounding that linear action. The resulting surrounding stream of magic should be able to act as an absorptive shield for any incoming magical energy. Furthermore, any additionally absorbed energy into the external field should reinforce the internal, linear magical energy, a conversion that could be siphoned and used to propel vehicles or recharge the crystals producing the initial force.

There are a few blockers to the implementation of Inductive Shielding at functional scale. At a high level, these include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining stable magical flight of an airship, while its flight-generating crystals are surrounded by a magical pseudo-vacuum.
- Maintaining a consistent linear action of magic in a short range (eg. the length of an airship), without rapidly depleting the energy of the source crystal.
- Architecting the correct positioning and orientation of crystalline guides in the 3D space around an airship, while also maintaining the airships structural stability and aerodynamics.
