Grave Wasp

Grave wasps are mouse-sized flying insects with long stingers that form their burrows in certain types of stone. They get their name from their occasional and unfortunate infestation of headstones in graveyards to the south of the Pyrhian Union and in the Mos'Al region.

Basic Information

Anatomy

About an inch thick, the average grave wasp is six inches long, its stinger a full 2 inches of its length. Rather than burrowing in the dirt or clay, it uses an acid secreted from glands near its mandibles to dissolve sections of stone, then using it's hardened, paddle-like front legs to form tunnels and and other structures within its nest of choice.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Grave wasps have average vision, instead tending to use their tremorsense to detect nearby prey through the stone into which they've made their home.
