Biographies: The AZZURI
The Deep one, raiders of the deep, and the hungering wave are all names given to those that call themselfs the Azzuri. Beings that resemble members of the cartilaginous fish from the oceanic depths that stretch through the surface of the world. It is believed that they were born from the primoridal leviathens from below, who seek to drown the land in their fury, this is because of their active aggression towards land dwellers, and their pension for piracy. This knowledge leads most scholars to believe that they are related to the orcs of the land, due to their primordial nature. he azzuri use a theocratic government system, with the Azzuray usually filling the role of the main figure head, although each race in their society promotes one member into seats of power, who work as advisors and delegates for the azzuray leader. the great abyssal ones, also known as the leviathans, are the primordial siblings of the beasts that birthed the orcs of the land, because of this, the Azzuri have a special disdain for there terrestrial cousins.
The AzHar:
Resembling a variety of shark species, The AzHar are agressive, Elite soldiers and gaurds, used primarily to release quick shock attacks to nearby coastal settlements, or quick hit and run attacks at the high seas. there mortal enemies, the sea elves see it as their species duty to protect the balance of sea and land, while the azhar seek nothing more then to eat the land dwellers.
Biology- muscular and agile, their physical traits do more then just make up for their simple mindedness. constantly in need of food due to their immense metabolism, this drives them to often consume their enemies where they fell them. Able to smell blood up to 200 ft away, this allows them to gather their food exceptionally well, and makes it very difficult to sneak up on them. T
Culture and relgion:
Used as divine hands of their abyssal gods, the AzHar find that through warfare and bloodshed, they provide worship to their gods. using the bones of the land dwellers and other foes as jewelry or trophies to show their strength, a AzHar defines its place in the pecking order through duels and their trophy collections. A member who loses to a lesser AzHar will take what the loser deams as they’re most valuable posession. If a Azhar refuses or does not have a trophy collection, or if they have gotten it all taken away, the AZZuray leaders they serve will punish them with anything from definnment, or direct execution. Some AzHar refuse this practice, and will leave their home permenently if they must. Trophy collections are almost lefts in the undersea grotto’s past down from their ancestors. A Azhar brings great shame to their families if they decide to escape their punishment, and can only be atoned through said punishment.
THE AZZUREAL:
Tall and thin, snake like bodies that resemble species of eals, the AZZUREAL are renown for their piracy, and their cold lethality. often serving as a slave or worker class in their society, they have by far the highest density of AZurri population. Physically weaker then the Azhar, and less intelligent then the AZZURAY, tasks that range from commerce,art,and mining all the way to manning their battleships and delegates, are typically filled by the AZZUREAL.
Biology:
Using their elongated bodies to wrap opponents up, they also use their eal biology to great effect, using their line of Lazuli, they release massive amounts of bioelectricity on to their foes, paralyzing them before eating, or taking them to their rulers. Due to their slender nature they excel at hiding on the sea floor, using their immense swim speed to follow boats and set traps on vessels that cross their paths.
CULTURE AND RELIGION:
To the Azzureal, it is their duty to serve the Azhar and AZzuray, as this is the closest they are allowed to come to their abbyssal lords. Serving as slaves, scouts, and just about anywhere in between, the Azzureal are very versatile and adaptable to many situations.
Even though they fill the peasant class in AZur society, the delegate chosen for the Azzureal are treated with the same importance as the AZhar delegate. They advise matters to which they specialize, and their position is currently in rotation, due to the fact that infighting is allowed and preffered by their azzuray masters, as to keep them against each other as long as possible. Regardless of their ruthless and aggressive nature, the Azzureal find great cultural significance in song, and will negotiate with items of great value to those who possess a song or instrament they desire. Due to the fact that the azzureal almost never make land fall on the nearby continent to their homes, they adopt sea shanties from their victims.
THE AZZURAY:
While not as phyiscally dominate, and in some cases, not as magically dominate as the Azhar tend to be, it is the will of their abyssal lords that rule atop the hierachy. The azzuray have the ability to decend the depths much further then the azhar, meaning a greater and closer connection to their gods. They do not shy away from waving their superority over other members of their species. It is the members that hear their gods voice, and decend the deepest that defines their stature in the hierachy.
Biology:
Resembling manta or sting rays, they have adapted their biology as such to allow them to have better eye placement. Using their sharp tail as a reactive weapon, pushing enemies back or into the arms of their AZhar body guards. Using their widdened body plan to glide,they use this ability to set up traps for unexpected. the tip of their tail can be broken, and it will regenerate quickly.
Culture and religion
The Azzuray are the only beings in the modern world that knows exactly.
This allows them to commune with their g0d, the Azzur never travel alone, usually with 4 AZhar, or a group of Azzureal. culturally, they offer little to azur society, and make decisions with their ego in mind. they will send their followers to their death to secure their own safety, and their followers agree with this. Serving the AZzuray is the closest attempt to worship, and are often seen as direct embodiments of their gods. Cunning tacticians, and calculated generals. When a AZzuray falls in combat, the Azhar will enter a blood rage that will not be satiated until they are killeed, or their target is killed. The azzureal will atempt to flee, or rally under the next person in line.
Basic Information
Anatomy
seperated into 3 distinct species making up the Azur they all resembles species of cartilaginous fish,
The AzHar- resembles many different shark species, standing taller then elves but shorter then ogres or trolls, they tend to be the muscle and generals of the Azur armies.
The AzzuRay- resembling manta and sting rays, these individuals possess great Arcane energy, and typically fill the roll as priest and ruler in their society.
The AZzurEal- slaves and general laborers, they resemble oceanic eals, those who do not fall into those two categories typically take the roll as scouts and pirates, gathering resources for their kin.
Genetics and Reproduction
very similar to sharks, designated members are allowed to breed with other designated members to insure that the best genes pass on. a lesser "unordained" member who wishes to breed may challenge a member of the ordained, and if they win, their genetics get to be passed on. Azhar take about a year of gestation before birth, usually carrying liter of 4 or less, only the first hatchling will be born as it will eat its siblings.
The Azzray, while they follow the same path of gestation as the Azhar, they do not allow their young to die, instead they are alll coveted, the eggs greatly taken care of by usually a team of adept slaves. as soon as they hatch they will immediately been seen as a superior to the Azzeal, but will not gain command after the Azhar until they reach maturity. sometimes, when a slave AzzEal or other traveler gets the opertunity to, eggs of the AzzRay will be stolen and are highly coveted for their nutritonal, and magical properties.
The Azzeal- laying clutches of eggs with 8 or more the Azzeal spawn are treated as poorly as their adults, forced to undergo a tradition called Inexorabilis(unforgiven) the eggs, days before the hatching, are taken somewhere outside the safety of there home, where they will be left. this distance is no less then 50 miles from the nearest Azur settlement. they then will hatch and must find their way home, any that are lost are deemed unworthy of life in their society. this trial can even require them to hatch on land, and those who do survive the land and make it home may enter society in a status higher then slave.
Growth Rate & Stages
all species are induced to the magical essences of the leviathens near their abyssal home, because of this they develop quickly, where some members of the Azzeal reaching maturity within a few weeks.
Ecology and Habitats
living deep in the trenches and abyss that sporadates the oceans, they will kill or subjugate all that enter their territories. they pirate ships, and make siege to nearby coastal cities to their homes.
Dietary Needs and Habits
truely carniviourous, all members need meat to survive, and are great at hunting the sea life. the Azzeal will scout a area, identify a worth while source of meat, and then will relay the information to their superiors. usually, they will be sent to scout another area, seeing as the Azhar have such a rapid metabolism, they need constant food to sustain themselves. their superiors, whether it be a Azhar or Azzray will then send Azhar soldiers to collect the food source. they will eat sentient creatures as well, and the Azzray have a preference for the flesh of their mortal enemies, the sea elfs due to their great magical energy that even their young posess. it has bee nsaid that in bigger cities that these sea elfs may be kept as breeding stock.
Biological Cycle
there is almost no physical distinction between infant teenage and adult phases on all three members of this race, other then size.
Behaviour
the AzHar do not care about the habits and strategies of their prey and typically will use the element of suprise with their immense strength and speed to finish off victims quickly. its not often that something will predate on them , but it does happen in areas where some larger beasts such as dragons intersect their territory. The Azhar will eat other members of their people, including other Azhar.
The Azzray see the act of hunting as barbaric, and will have their servents or slaves prepare their meals for them. they prefer to eat their victims as fresh as possible, usualling dining on their slave or prisoner supplies.
The Azzeal are non typically picky eaters, though they prefer meat, they will eat coral and seaweed when they must. almost all Azzeal are forced to eat the rotten left overs they may find or are given, while the highest ranking members in their species are allowed to eat anything that they may catch, so long as its meal of choice hasn't been claimed by a higher ranking member in their society.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
being cartilaginous fish, they have enhanced sense of smell, able to smell blood of targets up to 300 ft. they also possess a line of Laterzine, which while now dormant in the AzHar and The AzzRay, its use is two fold in the AzzurEal, which use it to detect threats, and release a potent shock.
