Crowspire Family
The Crowspire's are a notable family of Elves. One of the most ancient noble houses, their name is recognised in many cities across the continents. Their influence runs as deep as their coffers, and it is said they own businesses and contracts they have long forgotten about.
Catherine Crowspire
Catherine Crowspire was the youngest of three children born to Lionus and Ilithya Crowspire over 150 years ago. At the age of six she disappeared from her family estate in the town of Borsk. Believed dead or kidnapped, after six weeks of tireless searching, the family was forced to give up. This prompted them to leave the mining town, and effectively ended the Crowspire influence there.
A portrait of her still hangs above the hearth in one of the chambers of the Crowspire Manor (now dubbed the Overseer's Manor) in Borsk, and her tale is still recounted by the residents.
In fact, Catherine was not killed, but rather fell victim to the psychic tendrils of an ancient Elder Brain. The being lured her deep into the mines of Borsk, through narrow caverns and secret spaces into the Underdark. There she was transformed into an Ilithid or Mind Flayer, and made to serve her master; the first of its children, the first of its empire rebuilt.
Over the 150 years or so since her abduction, she has slowly regained parts of her human memory, and begun to question her master. Though she is no longer human, she retains her childlike appearance. She may be the only Ilithid to cry.
