Imperial Federation of Theodoland
The Imperial Federation of Theodoland - or Federischemperal Thurdalond, to give the original Thurdan - is a large and almost entirely contiguous empire stretching across much of central and western Auratia. The empire is ruled by the Thurdan Emperor and his imperial diet, whose powers are derived from the consent and votes of the semi-autonomous states within the empire's territory, each of which has their own monarch and government system. In one form or another, the imperial federation has existed for over 1,000 years, which leaves it as one of the oldest continous institutions on the continent.
