Terra: 2222

2222 AD: Humanity has colonized Luna, the Moon, and Martes, Mars. A belt of satellites surrounds Terra, the Earth, which has survived climate change thanks to colonization efforts and technological advancements.

Mechanization has changed the way of working, giving more safety to people and more equal conditions; AI serves more or less the same purpose, and like robots it's not fully independent by design. Means of communications and network standards have become more and more geographically different and decentralized, and after the Rage of the Sun event space colonies are unreachable, save for a couple access points.

The Earthlings, although divided, share an increasingly traditionalist feeling, while it is said that a new culture was born in Space, truly egalitarian. Nation States have become regional confederations, as societies and communities refused to keep going on the war on the poor propaganda. Capitalism is not dead, but it's not dominant anymore and had to adapt in a more open system, less monopoly-oriented and more equalitarian, like actual market economy with authorities as guarantors and wide participation and veto power to people. Some people, dreaming about the colonies, is rethinking the way to live on Earth too, while others are enroached on earth-humanity pride.

Legends tell of Portals, which appear in various regions of the world or nowhere, with the power of teleporting those who go through it directly on Mars or the Moon. Little more is known, but every human being wanting to escape from the conservative air of Terra is searching for it. Will you find it?
