Vellus
A type of bird that lives in Crystaile. It is most well known for it's fluffy appearance, as, at first glance, it looks quite similar to a pom-pom. It's blood is one of the primary ingredients in Crystailian Cuculo. Other than that, it is often kept as a pet in the richer families.
Basic Information
Growth Rate & Stages
Lives about twelve years and has feathers for 10 of them, as it develops most feathers by the age of 1, and loses them in increasing amounts before natural death.
Behaviour
Domesticated Vellus are often cuddly, and friendly, although some can be standoffish and rude. Wild Vellus are often either apathetic or very angry, and equally likely to attempt to maul a stranger as they are to ignore them.

Domesticated Vellus tend to have duller beaks than their wild counterparts, and have slightly duller claws.

Generally intelligent, especially when it comes to emotions.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Speculated to have a small amount of control over sun magic, which it uses to keep itself warm and gives it enhanced vision. It's hearing is rather lackluster, but in addition to it's enhanced vision, it can also detect large amounts of natural magic.
