Arcanum Sanguinarius
The Arcane Scholars:
Long before the world had seen the rise of Vampires, the Arcanum Sanguinarius were revered as scholars and practitioners of arcane Magic. They resided in a hidden and remote citadel, delving into the most forbidden and esoteric branches of magic. Their thirst for forbidden knowledge knew no bounds.
The Forbidden Tome:
It was in the deepest recesses of their hidden library that the sorcerers stumbled upon an ancient and cursed grimoire known as "Lilith's Blessing." This malevolent grimoire contained dark rituals and incantations that promised eternal life and power beyond imagination. Intrigued and lured by the promise of immortality, the Arcanum Sanguinarius sought to unlock the secrets within.
The Ritual of the Blood Moon:
With unwavering determination, the sorcerers deciphered the arcane texts and rituals inscribed within the grimoire. They discovered a ritual known as the "Crimson Ascension," a dark and perilous incantation that required the convergence of celestial forces and a willing sacrifices, each one making the ritual more potent.
The Creation of Vampires:
The Arcanum Sanguinarius, driven by an insatiable thirst for eternal life and forbidden power, embarked on the greatest experiment of their existence. Their leader, Valerian, was chosen to undergo the Crimson Ascension. In the final moments of the ritual, Valerian's brother, Elzudel, along with several other devout members of the cult, willingly offered their lives. Their sacrifice magnified the potency of the celestial energies, imbuing Valerian with immense power. When the ritual culminated, Valerian emerged as the first Vampire Lord—a being of incredible strength, unparalleled cunning, and eternal life.
The Price of Immortality:
Valerian's transformation came with an ominous price. He was cursed with an unquenchable thirst for blood and an eternal detachment from mortal life. Sunlight inflicted excruciating pain and drained his strength to below that of a common human. His immortality became a prison, tethering him to the shadows and forcing him to live in secrecy. Valerian’s power as a Vampire Lord surpassed that of any ordinary vampire. The sacrifice of his brother and others had not only granted him immortality but elevated him to a state where he could control the very essence of vampirism.
The Vampiric Curse Spreads:
With his newfound power, Valerian turned the remaining members of the Arcanum Sanguinarius into the first generation of vampires. Unlike him, these vampires were bound to his will and lacked the heightened abilities of a Vampire Lord. They were stronger, faster, and ageless, but they too carried the curse of bloodlust and the debilitating effects of sunlight. This marked the beginning of the vampiric lineage. As these vampires ventured beyond the confines of the cult, the curse spread. Mortals who survived their bite and were given a portion of their blood became fledglings, bound by the same thirst and vulnerabilities.
