Harpy
Harpies are a species of chimera with the bodies of human women but the arms and legs of birds. They are typically slight of build and capable of flight, but their exact characteristics can vary depending on what species their bird features come from.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Harpies' most notable feature is that they have fully functional bird wings instead of arms. These allow them to fly, but mean that their hands are almost completely useless for tasks that require any degree of manual dexterity. Their lower half can vary. Some harpies are completely avian from the waist down, while others retain human legs for the most part and only possess birdlike feet.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Harpies have eyesight comparable to the bird species they resemble. This means that they typically see very well during the day, but less so at night. Owl-like harpies are an obvious exception to this.
