Vento Aureo

Astera Star-Yards is a Raakatan civilian shipyard. The gravity-drive systems on the Astera-Explorer allow it to travel incredibly fast while using very little fuel, perfect for a jaunt to the beautiful orbital resorts around Erebus, or an impressive way to woo that special business client with a tour or the Aegean hypercomplex.

Archeotech Gravity-Assisted Drive system

Allows for incredible straight-line speed over great distances . Can cross 8 sectors squares per day (Travel map). Typical travel time from Mandeville Point to Star approx 2 weeks.  

Advanced Flight-Systems

The Asterra line of ships is designed for rapid luxury travel. A complex gravity-dampener system reduces G-force stress on occupants and the flight-controls are divided into two modes. "Guide-Mode" is the recommended configuration and closes down all pilot controls, replacing them with a simple menu of pre-programmed manoeuvres. These require no Piloting Skill to operate, but in Guide-Mode the ship cannot perform any voluntary Pilot actions. In "Expert-Mode" the control systems open up and allow someone with the correct Piloting Skill to operate the ship normally.   Pre-Programmed pilot actions include: Taking off (from planet or hangars), Landing (planet or hangars), flying a set course (pre-determined by prior Navigation Skill checks), Flying a straight course to a general area (i.e. planet orbit, asteroid belt, etc.).   WARNING: The auto-flight systems are not intended to handle emergency situations. It is recommended that a qualified Pilot should attend the controls at all times.  

Spacecraft

This vehicle is primarily designed to operate as a spacecraft. It may enter the atmosphere of suitable planets where it can only make a direct descent to land. It cannot operate as a flyer. It can take-off and return to orbit in the same way as it landed.  

Counter-Gravity Hover

The vehicle may count as a Skimmer (and follow all the rules for a Skimmer) for up to 2 minute before it must return to counting as a Spacecraft. It may do this once every hour. This is to allow fine-tuning upon landing.  

Void Shields

Void Shields absorb damage entirely (ignore Penetration). Once the total damage taken equals the shield rating, the Void Shield collapses. Roll a d100 at the end of each turn the shield is down (after the first): Each Round the shield gains a cumulative10% chance to restart at full strength.  

Pilot Operated Linked Weaponry

All weapons classified as “Pilot-operated” may all be fired by the pilot as one shooting action, at targets no more than one VU apart. Roll for hits and damage separately with each weapon. (Not available in "Guide-Mode").
