Stasis Box A Stasis box can look like anything on the outside, commonly plastek or metal made to resemble wood or ornate storage chests. It is large enough to hold anything up to Size 2 (p134 Core Rules). The Stasis Field is activated once the lid is closed, and only when closed. Duellist Shield Ancient personal shield generator technology. Designed to deflect melee attacks, but useless against ranged attacks. The Shield generator is a circle 10cm radius and 3cm thick and usually worn on the belt. They create a visible 'fuzzy blurring' effect around the wearer which reduces the wearer's vision to only about 5m around them, beyond that everything seems blurred and seems to smear like wet paint when the user moves. Turning it on/off takes a Half Action. Protection Rating against Melee/slow attacks: 40. -30 to Perception of anything visual outside of a 5m radius, inc. Ballistic skill tests. -10 to Ranged attacks made on the user from 5m or more outside the shield because the shield blurs the users form slightly. 1kg Unique
Nanosword Scabbard A very special scabbard for Nanoswords that boosts the rebuilding rate for nanites. When the tools are in the belt, it weighs only 3kg and access to any tool from the kit is much faster, counting as a half-action to draw any tool. 3kg Common

Protective Gear Requisition

As a valued employee of Veidt Industries, the following Protective Gear is available to you from all good Veidt Suppliers.   NOTE: Most citizens don't wear armour, those that do (such as security contractors, Privateers, etc.) often favour concealed armour over obvious bulky vests. The military has been buying up all types of armour recently, making it harder to get than usual.
  • Tough Clothing is often worn by workers in the industrial areas and Docks, it always looks like workwear.
  • A Bodyglove is a specialist underlayer most often worn by security workers or low-level executives and can be worn under normal clothing.
  • A Flak Vest is a padded vest laced with ceramic panels and armourweave fabrics. It can be worn under clothing, but to the trained eye it's obvious.

Melee Weapons Requisition:

As a valued employee of Veidt Industries, the following Melee Weapons are available to you from all good Veidt Suppliers.
  • The Neo-Hoplite Sword is common Across Tantalus and is legal to carry. Common citizens don't often carry swords in safer areas (though some do for fashion/statements and it doesn't draw undue attention). A great many manufacturers have gone out of business lately, making this item slightly harder to get than usual.
  • Knives are considered a 'tool' or 'utility item' and almost every citizen will carry at least one of some type, some openly, some in pockets, etc.
  • Truncheons are typically metal rods that extend from small handles. They aren't very commonly seen, but they are not illegal.
  • The Custodian Riot Shield is an unbadged version of the transparent Plexon(TM) shield used by custodian Enforcers. It's very uncommon to see a civilian walking around with a shield in most places, although it's not strictly illegal, it will impact Subtlety. It measures 1mx1.5m.
  • A Nanosword is an extremely high-tech weapon and extremely hard to get hold of. The blade contains a store of nanites. With each hit on an opponent, some nanites stay on the target and continue to do damage until their tiny power sources are expended. On a roll of 1 or 2 on the damage dice, the nanites are used up and the sword looses the Crippling, Razor Sharp, and Corrosive qualities until the Nanites are replenished, which work the same way as recharging laspacks p134 Core Rules.
NOTE: If caught using a melee weapon Custodians will still arrest and detain, but the act of possessing melee weapons is not illegal and using them in self-defence is not illegal. Duelling is also not illegal, though it's an old custom and very few regular citizens would seek to engage in a duel.
