Religion in the Ithacan Star League
Generally the Ithacan Star League is secular, although during the war a Religion known as the “Purple Doctrine” developed and is now a very minor religion. It’s a combination of general spiritual beliefs and battle strategies that lends itself well to a society where violence is ever-present, but very few want to go to war.
Within the Doctrine the “godhead” power is known as the Source, a non-specific semi-sentient entity that can lend strength to those in need, protect those that can’t fight, etc.
Quotes from the Purple Doctrine
May the Source of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in it, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Aether. The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy, and do not lose hope in the Mercy of the Source. Indeed none lose hope in the Mercy of the Source except the most ungrateful people.
If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of the Prime Source.
