Imperial Centre for Culture

The Imperial Centre for Culture, more commonly known as simply Imperial Centre or the Aquillan Building, is a new building rapidly built at immense cost in Hollard very close to the Assembly administration areas.    It is built in the Imperial style and staffed by Aquillan members or members of the Imperium that arrived on the Star Charter. The stated goal of the building is to house the collected knowledge of the Aquilan Society in hardcopy and there are currently thousands of individuals employed in transcribing the database to various hardcopy formats by hand: Tomes, scrolls, filmbook, parchments, encyclopaedias. They have even produced many instructional videos and learning materials that are being distributed to Academies across Tantalus.   It is an unofficial but widely accepted custom that once you enter the Imperial Centre building you have entered Imperial territory, and everyone who works there behave as they believe would be appropriate in the Imperium. It's essentially an Embassy building.   Anyone is welcome (and encouraged) to visit. For free everyone may walk around and see scrolls, statues and recovered artefacts of Imperial history from the Graveyard. For a small donation anyone may request private time with a remembrancer - a scholar/historian - who will answer questions on the Imperium and more specifically the history of Rakkata, the Ork War, and the history of Tantalus as an Imperial colony. For those that make a massive donation the society grants access to private reading rooms where people may browse the books and scrolls already completed by the transcribers. For an even more massive donation patrons may place orders for books/scrolls/parchments/filmbooks be copied for private collections (all done by hand).   Many wealthy individuals have been visiting Imperial Centre as a status symbol, and it's become something of a new fashion to adopt some of the Imperial customs. The manufacture of Servo Skulls (from ceramics rather than skulls) has increased dramatically over the last few weeks and the wealthy are purchasing them from Imperial Centre as personal drones. A new fashion for Imperial-Style clothing is spreading amongst the wealthy too, there's even rumours that several of the very fashion-forward have been remodelling homes and offices in 'Imperial Style', which is significantly different to what's currently in Vogue.   Imperial Centre has also been serving as a high-end hotel for visitors from the Sleastatt Alliance while they work with the Tantalus Government. Many people from the Imperial Quarter have permanently relocated to Imperial Centre's growing hab blocks that cater to workers and staff.
