Terra
Terra is a small world circling a single yellow star. Very similar to our own world. It sports several land masses separated by large bodies of water. Polar caps at the north and the south maintain bulwarks between the two largest continents.
The world supports several ecosystems. Lush rain forests, vast deserts, rolling fields, mountain ranges and forests, glaciers and huge oceans. There are five continents, two are super continents, and many islands.
Cities have developed along coastal lands and strategic resource locations. Trade routes established between these cities have developed rudimentary road systems. The technology of the day is middle age, with basic firearms, stone and brick structures, and large sailing ships being common, though expensive, and hand made tools and dwellings made from wood, basic alloys and steels being common. Blacksmithing, Carpentry, Masonry and Mining are very in demand careers, as well as Farming and Ranching.
Magic is powerful, though uncommon. Wizards are trained at one of three Towers of High Sorcery. Natural borne sorcerers are very rare, and if found are immediately at risk. Locals find them frightening and are very likely to attack them or kill them. Periodically the Towers of High Sorcery will scry and try to find any natural borne sorcerers that they can.
Humans, Elves and Dwarves have formed mutually beneficial alliances that have kept conflict between these races limited. Orcs and Goblins, as well as other Goblinoid races like Gnolls and Ogres have also formed beneficial alliances, though they often war amongst themselves and don't maintain any infrastructure larger than a settlement or tribal nomadic village. These two groups often war with each other over border disputes, with the Goblinoids often raiding lands for resources.
Religion is potent on Terra. Many gods are followed as well as entire pantheons. Individual societies regulate which gods are openly followed.
