Bast Nation

Within the dunes, the nation of Bast has long been deserted by the people despite being the originally intended capital of the world. However, prior to the extreme changes in weather condition, it rendered the land unlivable.
  The nation stretches from the badlands that outlines the canyonland, and was originally built on the surface before being swallowed by the dunes.
  This was a monumental event that led the people to divide into the Inlanders (those who live within the confines of the earth) and the Outlanders (those who still live on the surface).
  The most significant feature of Bast is that it holds the Library, a key agency that still houses original paperback books, the Library is owned by Dr. Tobias Sable (The Historian), who intented it to be a gift to his child.
  Bast also contains Ranger Outpost Anubis, which differs from other Ranger Outposts. While other outposts often act as a stand-alone structure, often away from civilization (with the exception of HQ Valkyrie in Meridian), this outpost lies within the Library in a secret hidden room. The Library itself is built with a Gothic motif, with original mahogany finishes. While it is unknown as to how the structure maintained its integrity after being swallowed by the dunes, but it is possible the dry climate helped maintain the wooden accents. The hidden outpost can only be access through the hearth of the central stone fireplace, underneath stone-carving of 3 dragons (although it appears that this is a piece of an original nine-dragon wall, the rest possibly destroyed).
