Samuel Sanchez

Sam is a handsome young man and thanks to his rather athletic lifestyle he aquired and ecually athletic and muscular appearance. His spiky brown hair is expanded by a white strand caused by a genetic defect which also turned his eyes into a very light blue with one eye having a green touch that got lighter the older he got. Despite his usually grumpy facial expression, he is more of a light hearted type with his stern look simply being his natural face.

As a Cronomoprh carrying the Alpha-Genome, Sam is able to utilize abilities such as flight, teleport, regeneration, the summoning of weaker Cronomorphs as well as morphing his limbs into weapons or transforming himself into a demonic beast. He is also able to withstand extreme conditions, be it the vacuum of space of the inside of a star.   When his Alpha Genome got removed by Typhon however, his abilities got drastically weakened to the point he was a mere human who had to rely on regular weapons such as swords and firearms. Turns out the red matter in his body needed to regenerate, meaning his abilities would return over time but without the Alpha Genome, they´d never be at the same level as before. For example, without an Alpha Genome, Sams regenerative abilities could not catch up with too many fatal wounds within a short instance, making him fairly easy to kill for an experienced platoon of soldiers or a single super powered being like Adam.

Samuel was born as the second child of Richard Roe, the hero of the First Pangalactic War and the first child of Richards former team leader Lyra Sanchez. As the two had an affair, Lyra kep her pregnancy a secret with a fatal result: As she was a mere human carrying out a Cronomorph child, she developed severe radiation sickness and died giving birth to her son. Sam wouldn´t hear about the circumstances of his birth until several years later. Until then he believed Airi to be his real mother. Since Sam inherited the Alpha-Genome, he was a powerful Cronomorph capable of destroying entire planets even at a young age. As the United Colonies feared that his power might bring trouble in the hands of a mere child, Sam spent the first few years of his life in a secure facility where he would be studied by a team of psychologists. This was necessary to determine wether or not Samuel was a threat to humanity but over the years he turned out to be a rather cheerful and freindly young boy. The day he would be released from the facility at the age of 5, a reasearcher named Dr. Sundkvist brought him into contact with a nervous Shiba-Inu to test his abilities in interacting with weaker lifeforms. Since Dr. Sundkvist fed several meds to the dog to make him aggressive, it would attack Sam who in return, out of shock and panic slammed the dog against a wall, killing it by accident. While the Doctor argued that this traumatic event would prevent him from doing any harm to his sourroundings, Samuels parents felt disguisted by her methods and took their son home.   Despite several parental concerns, Samuel was sent to a regular school in Ohana, the main Capital of Planet Nero. Over time however, other children started to bully Sam who was too afraid to fight back and instead developed an eating disorder, becoming obese in the process.   Reaching Highschool, Samuel would meet his future girlfriend Himiko Suzunari, a Japanese girl who was blind due to a brith defect. As the two grew close together, Sam managed to encourage Himiko to stand up against her strict parents while Himiko helped Sam fighting his obesity.   Eventually, Sam confessed his feelings which Himiko returned, both becoming a couple afterwards. Years later when they graduated Highschool at the age of 18, the two would part ways as Himiko would enter a University to study Bionic Engineering like her father while Sam would be recruited by the Covenants anti Terror Unit StarCell where he would investigate several terrorist acts on Planet Aciel, the economic centre of the Covenant.   As Samuels training was cut drastically short as his superiors believed hiw powers to weigh out his lack of experience, Sam often felt pretty insecure among other battle hardened soldier but still gave his best. However, when investigating a terrorist hideout, Samuel would go off on his own, with the intention of protecting his comrades but was met with anti Cronomorph weapons instead, drastically wounding him. In the ensuing battle, several StarCell officer were killed and Samuel was put in a Court-Martial, sentenced to two years of prison at the Black Sun Maximun Security Facility.   He was released, at last. 6 months earlier as his girlfriend Himiko commited suicide after giving in to her depression. Sam was cleared of all charges but rerturned home to the United Colonies being rather depressed himself as he felt he had lost all direction in his life.   In 3456, he was approached by Admiral Khalil Yarek, a former comrade of his father who made him an offer: The Covenant would assist the United Colonies in reclaiming humanities lost homeworld Terra, and Samuel would escort the fleet, protecting it if necessary. In exchange, Sam could clear his name and would be offered a job in the very same military unit his mother once served in: Special Operations for Reconaissance and Assult.   Samuel, who was encouraged by his half-sister Lynnea to not give up on himself yet accepted, kicking off the events of TERRA AFTER EARTH: STARS OF LIBERTY.

Questionable

Sam is a man of logic, always calculating his next move even in conversations. It is to note however, that in the heat of battle ´the "Shoot first, shoot again and maybe ask questions if the target still lives"-mentality still applies to him. Also, he can become quite emotional at times which clashes into his usually rational way of thinking.

Samuel has a strong sense of justice which turned into a Superhero complex at some point, caused by his powers. He values things like freedom and free will over many other things. While he does swear a lot, he never does so when children are nearby. Some other quirks can be observed as well:   For once, he helped out an orphanage in the hispanic district of Ohana City where his mother Lyra once also cooked for kids that lost their parents during the Human-Star Spawn war and the Pangalactic war. Like many other hispanics, he celebrates the Dia de los Muertos regularly, as he believes that no one truly dies and is just waiting on the other side. In fact he takes his hispanic heritage very seriously, since for him, it is the only way to pay respects to his deceased mother.

The main motivation to take back control over his life was his adventerous nature as he always wanted to see as many different worlds as possible. Also, after studying human history with its countless conflicts, he wanted to make sure there´d be as few as possible in the future.   Another reason for why Sam fights for peace is that his father Richards was suffering a severe case of PTSD, often completely blacking out and finding himself back in the Pangalactic War after certain triggers. Witnessing his fathers suffering, Sam would do everything he could to prevent other people from experiencing the same trauma.

Just like his mother Lyra, Sam has a strong affinity for cheesy action Movies such as Fast & Furious and premature humor. For once, while he was stranded in Agartha after the Reclaimer Expedition was wiped out by the Federation, he created a hand drawn comic series called El Nacho, a parody on Western Dime Novels.   Other weird hobbies include obsessing over fighter jets of the late 20th and early 21st century and the everyday life of US citizens during the Wild West.

He exclusively swears in Spanish, even before he knew of his Mexican heritage.
