Lyra Sanchez

Thanks to her LCP (Lorentz-Powered Combat Prosthetic), Lyra has a variety of tricks up her literal sleeve:   -Several integrated tools: Can opener, combat knife, lighter, compass, radio,   -Manipulating objects via electromagnetism: Can launch any metallic object like a projectile with her arm   -Automated melee combat: Lyra can use her arm to not only freely manipulate her Katana, but also to let an AI take over so she and her Katana can fight indepentently   -EAGLE-System: The EAGLE-System is a special tool for soldiers with cybernetic eyes, it displays real time combat data and poses as aim assist for ranged combat

-ECM-Barrakuda: A special Katana able to vibrate to the point of becoming glowing red hot, thus being able to cut even through hardened armor   -Automatic Pulse Rifle with Cal .50 FTA and Plasma ammunition

Lyra was born as the first and only child of Carola Sanchez and Jason Lockheart. With her father being a high ranking OUC General at the time, Lyra felt inspired by this and concluded to become a soldier herself one day.    During her early childhood, she was approched by Jason who explained to her that there was a young boy who needed some friends. As it turned out, the boy was Richard who had to be integrated into human society, so his mother Linda founded a special class where Richard could meet other human children, with Lyra being one of them. After a while, Lyra and Richard formed a deep friendship with eachother with both also developing feelings for eachother.   However, in 3397, the city of New Colossus where both Lyra and Richard lived got attacked by aliens, and since the military could not evacuate the civilians in time, Lyras mother Carola had to bring the children to safety on her own. During their escape, they got ambushed by Keaddan, who fatally wounded Carola and ripped of Lyras arm, also plucking out her eye.    Deeply traumatized by this, she not only had to cope with this incident but also with her now limited field of view and well as her missing limb. She´d be assisted by Richard, who tried cheering her up and Larry, a Kiru specialized in emotional support. Despite her inner and outer scars, Lyra managed to live a relatively normal childhood.   When both Lyra and Richard neared the end of their time in school, humanity was still at war with the Star Spawn, and Lyra was even more convinced that she had to fight, however her disability made her fail the mandatory recruitment tests. Richard however presented Lyra with another option: Project Daedalus, a special OUC program where wounded soldiers and civilians were given cybernetic augmentations to replace limbs or other body parts. Since the technology had been drastically improved to support the war effort, Lyra volunteered for a special combat prosthetic which not only restored her arm but also her missing eye. When the tow of them finally took the recruitment test together, Richard was rejected and instead he was assigned traffic police duty while Lyra exceeded all expectations and was accepted as an OUC soldier.   In the following years, due to her achievements, Lyra was eventually was offered a place in the elite unit SORA, which she happily accepted. However, her guilt of leaving back her boyfriend Richard and her growing PTSD along with regret in her career choice proved to be a tough test for her psyche, as her psychological supervisor had concerns about her condition.   After loosing over 38 teammembers over the years, Lyra applied for a position as an instructor for new Daedalus recruits, far away from the battlefield. Much to her dismay, she was given another mission instead, that being the extraction of none other than her ex boyfriend Richard from the Roanoke space colony, which marked the beginning of TERRA AFTER EARTH: WRATH OF THE STARS.

Lyras PTSD had grown during her service for the OUC, to the point she almost had to be suspended from duty, however the situation was looking grim for humanity and good soldiers like her were desperately needed. She often dreams about being a simple housewife, arguing that greeting a husband after work or simply preparing meal for your children is a feeling none other could compete with. Despite that, she still believes in her decision becoming a soldier and carries out her duty with great professionalism.

She has been shown to be quite suspicious towards aliens, even friendly ones to the point that she invited Airi to train together in an attempt to humilate her, only to be humilated herself in the process as Airi has proven to be physically superior thanks to her genetically enhanced body. Still being resentful to most aliens, she learned to not only accept Airi as a teammate, but also as her best friend, as Airi helped her cope with her internal conflicts just like Richard did.

Her motivation has always been to finally end the war between humanity and the Star Spawn once and for all.

Despite not being a very religious person, Lyra is very superstitious, even going so far as to forbid private conversations during missions, as she believes this to be a so called Death Flag. She also celebrates Dia de los Muertos every 2nd November as she believes that death is not truly the end of someone, mostly referring to her mother.
