Make sure it stays this way." -High Chairman Jafar Osman giving the order to kill GargantuaGargantua is an enormous hostile creature that lived in the great Cave of Life, a holy place on Planet Amunaara. Research showed that Gargantua is genetically related to the Amun and might even be responsible for creating the Amun in first place. It is believed that she was created as a bioweapon to protect the Southern Galactic Portal that space faring civilizations could use to reach their galaxy´s Central Pillar, from where they could travel to other galaxies. Tough it is not entirely clear wether the Nanaji or the T´Chora have created Gargantua, it is pretty obvious that she isn´t a natural lifeform but rather a purposefully designed monster capable of destroying entire civilizations. Gargantua was killed during operation OUTER REACH during the first Pangalactic War by forces of the OUC and ASOI alike, as both parties desperately sought access to the portal to prevent the Cronomorph invasion from spreading over to the neighboring galaxies.

The Amun worshipped Gargantua as their godess, rightfully believing she created their species. The most famous piece of literature that depicts Gargantua would be "The Tale of the Great Mother", which would be comparable to the Bible or the Quran in terms of importance for the respective religion it represents.
Broadly summarized, the book is a collection of poems that vaguely tell the story of a family whose mother was none other than Gargantua. After a dispute with the father, they split up, with the father leaving to the sky and becoming the darkness of space with Gargantua staying behind and becoming Amunaara itself.

Gargantua is mostly depicted as a lizard-like creature with 6 arms. The most famous depiction of her would be on the great Bell over the Covenants council room on Dunia where the senators of all the different star systems would meet whenever a big election was going on.

Not only can her shear size be used as a weapon, her special ability allows Gargantua to create a black hole within her split jaw, swallowing up everything in range as seen when the OUC Manchester, a destroyer class spaceship, got caught in the event horizon and crashed onto Amunaara after being partially vaporized. In addition to that, Gargantua has tendrils coming from her arms that can stretch over several kilometers and even cause tremors when slammed into the ground.
