A Kosdine is a small deer-like creature with horns that curve to the side of it’s skull like hooks. It has a powerful neck that can use the horns to batter creatures away. The creature is hunted widely for its rare horns.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Kosdine is able to defend itself with its powerful hind legs, increased agility and speed. The Kosdine horns that grow like hooks out of the side of its skull, it’s strong neck allows it to batter away predators and helps keep the tall brush of the forest out of its face.

Biological Traits

The Kosdine lives for up to 14 years, or up to 16 if bred towards the eastern druids.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Kosdine breeds like all other mammals of similar anatomy. But it gestates for 270 days (8.8 months).

Growth Rate & Stages

The Kosdine grows very quickly, reaching maturity after just 6 months, but can begin to breed at 5 months.

Ecology and Habitats

The Kosdine prefers colder temperatures to breed and feed. This means it cannot be bred in other countries, only making its horns more valuable and widely seeked.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Kosdine feeds off of frozen grass seeds in the northern reaches of A’h Enfrys during the Rebirth. During any other season, the Kosdine eats young grass.

Biological Cycle

The Kosdine breed in summer, when the snow melts. This allows it to eat the younger blades of grass and assists reproduction.

The Kosdine’s horns are ashen grey, and the fur on its face is lighter grey.

The Kosdine prefer the north for food, or the east for shelter and protection. It generally avoids cities and communities.

The Kosdine will avoid predators as much as possible, it’s keen senses allow it to generally keep a mile or two between it and settlements.

Kosdines are hunted for their unique horns, and are protected if they happen to wander into a druid’s land. The Kosdine is rendered invisible by the natural magic surrounding the area and will remain that way until it leaves.
