Harpy / Harpie
Harpys or Harpies are creatures that are half human half vulture. Harpys have the upper torso of a female with the lower half of a vulture, with feathery wings growing from their arms. Harpies have the upper body of a male and the lower body of a vulture, with feathery wings growing from their arms.
For the convenience of reading this, they will be herein refered to as “Harpies”.
Harpies are simple minded savages and can act erratically and attack unpredictably. These attacks are monitored by the village of Ashh Elunore on the coast.
Harpies make their home on skerries, caves, and mountains.They reproduce in rocky enviornments, making Harppiland the best habitat for them.

Anatomy
From the waist down, Harpies are vultures, large talons on their feat and feathers ranging from grey to black.
Genetics and Reproduction
Harpies reproduce just like eagles, except they only lay one egg a year, which incubates for 3-4 months.
Harpies have a breeding season in early winter, most Harpies return to Harppiland to mate. After the egg is laid, the mother leaves.
Growth Rate & Stages
Baby Harpies care for each other, until they reach maturity at a little over 1 year. When they reach full maturity, they might leave their home if it’s overpopulated, like Harppiland.
Ecology and Habitats
Harpies live in damp rocky places, like caves, mountains, and skerries. They venture outside only to mate or feed.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Harpies eat fresh meat or carrion if nothing else is available. Harpies from “hunting parties” to attack nearby villages.
Biological Cycle
In summer, Harpies steal to the seas, raiding ships and coastal villages.
In spring, Harpies travel into the wilds, feeding on newborn animals.
In winter, Harpies return to their lair to mate.
In autumn (fall), Harpies camouflage with the dead leaves and ambush their prey.

Social Structure
There is a strict hierarchy among the Harpies, there is one leader per colony, that leader is the strongest or most cunning. That leader intimidates others into serving them, they pick commanders to lead hunting packs and keep the peace. Everyone serves and follows, or risks banishment or execution as example.

Ad Dikalla often uses harpies to discard unused meat products.
Facial characteristics
Harpies’ faces are formed into an eternal scowl, and their scowls are even more menacing. Harpies speak in hisses and coughs.

Harpies stick together to form alliances and families. They leave to mate or feed, or when their birthplace is overcrowded.
