Aasimar
Aasimar are mortal humanoids which are imbued from birth with celestial traits and abilities. Like most other Planetouched Races, an aasimar can have parents of any other race, and aasimar tend to retain the characteristics of their racial parentage, including size.
Appearance
At a glance, an aasimar wouls appear mostly indistinguishable from the race they were born into; upon closer inspection however, there are some qualities to an aasimar which serve to hint at their celestial nature: traits such as unusually-colored eyes and a slightly metallic sheen to the individual's skin or hair are most common, although other unusual traits may manifest in case-by-case instances. Some aasimar have been observed emitting a soft "glow" in dim or dark lighting conditions; while involuntary at first, aasimar with this ability appear to learm how to control it over time, allowing them to summon and dismiss this inner light more or less at will.Traits and Abilities
In addition to the aforementioned inner light, aasimar have been known to be capable of abilities that are noticeably divine in nature, such the abiility to magically heal wounds or innately understand the Celestial language without any prior tutelage. Some aasimar have even been reported as being capable of manifesting wings, which appear to "grow" from the back of the individual at will and vanish when no longer desired. These wings do not appear to be universally capable of flight, although other abilities related to them have been observed, such as magically inducing fear in other humanoids who witness the wings' appearance.History
Throughout history, aasimar have been reported to manifest all across Teranuz. The exact cause behind their origin remains a mystery: while these half-celestial beings clearly have some connection to the divine plane of Tribunal, the factors responsible for an aasimar's birth are less clear. Some suggest that an aasimar is the result of a child being born within close proximity to a Convergence Zone leading to Tribunal, while others posit that the birth of an aasimar stems from the awakening of some dormant celestial presence in the child's ancestry. Whatever the reason for their existence, the aasimar are frequently coveted and sought after for their divine abilities. In the Hegian Empire, aasimar are believed to have been divinely blessed by the goddess Solasne, for the specific purpose of protecting and serving the Empire and its interests. As such, most aasimar born within the empire's borders are either encouraged to join or outright conscripted into The Reclaimers; aasimar recruited in this way are usually placed in the division known as Les Ascendants to receive training as paladins.Notable Aasimar
