Dragonborn
A rare and mysterious folk, born from the dreams of dragons.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dragonborn are like humanoid dragons, with two arms and two legs. Some of them even have wings capable of flight.
Biological Traits
Dragonborn can vary greatly in size, depending on the surrounding culture. Scholars believe that if a dragon dreams of being a halfling, for example, a small dragonborn child will form in a halfling village.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dragonborn spring into life as young children, anywhere from 3 to 8 in human settlements, and the equivalent in the lands of other folk. They grow to adulthood at the same rate as those around them, but then age at a relatively slow pace, able to live up to two centuries.
Behaviour
Some dragonborn grow up as outsiders or "orphans" and feel isolated, but others find a lot of value in family and teamwork.

Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Dragonborn are more likely than most to choose a new name around adulthood, something with a Draconic feel that gives them a bit of independence.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Dragonborn generally speak the language of the place where they were "born" but also have an affinity for Draconic, picking it up very quickly even with few other speakers around.
History
Human scholars have been especially fascinated by the strange nature and power of dragonborn, and this is the best explanation anyone has managed: Dragons are alone by nature. They are so few and so fearsome that they rarely interact with anyone positively, and almost never meet another of their kind. So, perhaps in order to engage the right parts of their minds or avoid going mad, dragons dream of being people. Sometimes these creatures of primordial magic can imagine so deeply that a real, draconic creature appears in a tavern or a palace or a busy street.
Historical Figures
Torcath Linvos, the gladiator champion of Stheno at the height of the Evil Empire. She used her popularity to lead a revolution, and soldiers born in the Desert of Serpents left the Imperial Ranks to join her. Though the rebels were defeated eventually, Linvos became a martyr and is remembered as a symbol of independence.
