Gnome

Gnomes are to known to enjoy life, no matter what happens. They have long life spans, upwards of 250 years, so they plenty of time to enjoy their lives as well. Many Gnomes work on mechanisms and contraptions throughout their lives, living in small communities burrowed into hills. However, they rarely spend their whole lives living within them. Gnomes have a passion for sightseeing, and tend to go on long walks, sometimes for even days at a time, simply to enjoy their surroundings. Gnomes and Halflings have a horrible rivalry, due to their Gods getting into a fight. Instead of combat, however, Gnomes and Halflings are known to send harshly worded letters to one another.   Deep Gnomes, known as Svirfneblin, are those who choose to not enjoy the worlds around them. They tend to be grumpy and upset at most times, and tend to spend most of their time mining for ores. They tend to live in their own civilizations, and almost exclusively trade with Drow civilizations, generally in exchange for their strongest alcohol.   Forest Gnomes are Gnomes who tend to abandon their burrows in favor for living in tiny towns in thick, fae-filled forests. They often will live inside large mushrooms, allowing the fireflies and things around them to bring light to their life. Forest Gnomes often have the friendliest encounters with Wood Elves, as they tend to inhabit the same places, and have similar respect for the world around them. Additionally, many Forest Gnomes will have a friend for life in an Elf, unlike a human.   Some Gnomes even carry blessings in the forms of marks upon their skin. These marks are bestowed unto a person via a dragon's blessing, given only to those who they value greatly. They are also passed hereditarily, and grant power to any who wield and can control them. Some, however, are unable to, leading to horrific consequences for themselves and the people around them.
