Welcome to Pont
The party arrives in Pont.
The party arrives in the late evening. While crossing the Felrock River via ferry into the city proper, the group speak with Roy the Ferryman. Roy informs the his passengers of a few locations to keep in mind:
- The Hungry Minstrel (Pomeroy Ward) for an inn and a place to stay
- Druid's Market (Jaden) and Kytsalt's Armory (Jaden) for places to shop for armor/weapons
- The Guardhouse (Jaden) has a stable yard that is able to keep the horses and wagons
First stop, the Guardhouse where a Statue of Naomara stands outside. The horses and wagon are left in the stable yard. Just past the Guardhouse, the massive shape of The Stone Dragon catches the party's attention.
Then, off to The Hungry Minstrel in the Pomeroy ward. Passing through the Druid's Market, the party see the after hours crowd in the Market: dancers and beggars.
After a brief detour to The Krate, the party makes its way into the Pomeroy Ward. Passing the Cathedral No'eau, the group arrives to The Hungry Minstrel at peak of its business. Luckily, the inn has one room available which the five have to squeeze into. Kathel, the innkeeper, refers Lor and Rea to Gina for the bathhouse across the street. Crow gambles the night away.
The next morning, the party gathers for breakfast at The Cracked Mug. After a discussion of Crow's ability to eat food, Crow storms off feeling insulted.
Kel, Lor, Rea, and Grukk return to The Hungry Minstrel to seek out Kathel's knowledge of the city in regards to the Scroll Box. Kathel directs the group to Kather's Carvings (The Bend) for the woodwork or the Smeltfall family for the ironwork within the box.
The group passes the House of Euphoria on the way to Kather's Carvings. The group discover that the Scroll Box was commissioned by the Praetor, Ulged Smeltfall.
After leaving Grukk and the Scroll Box at the inn, the trio seek an audience with the Praetor at the Praetor's Mansion. The Praetor's aide,
Sarina Gedney, steps out to inform that the Praetor is unavailable. She sets an appointment in a week (07/10) at noon. The group heads over to the Guildhall to look for work. A bounty for a wild animal attacking the nearby town of Bray catches their attention.
Meanwhile, Crow explores the city. He checks for additional work at the Guardhouse, but is directed to the bounty board at the Guildhall. He removes a bounty from the board that matches the one seen with Yog and Kahg. He also notes a the bounty for the wild animal in the town of Bray.
Crow wanders throughout the city. He hears a handful of rumors including:
- Praetor Smeltfall is a rougarou (werewolf).
- Brytha the Peddler deals in stolen goods.
- Someone had seen a rat dragging parchments in the city.
Crow eventually finds himself drawn to the Ilun Cemetery, past the rows and rows of crypts to a chhatri standing at the center. A voice clatters in the back of his mind and offers him six spectral bullets that will not miss. Crow accepts. He steals a finger from the nearby Smeltfall crypt.
Crow then heads to the Druid's Market in search of Brytha the Peddler. Crow is pointed in the right direction and finds Brytha peddling her wares (trinkets of various kinds). He broaches the subject of stolen goods. Brytha is wary but offers a test. She gives Crow a foxglove and tells him to meet her at The Hunting Thief in the bend tonight.
The party reconvenes at the Hungry Minstrel. Rea finds out more about the Pomeroy Casino on the El Cuero. The Pomeroy invites players based on the rotating game of the week (Portholes tomorrow). Alternatively, an invitation can be won via combat in the Krate.
The group decides to go to The Hunting Thief as a group. Passing the House of Euphoria, Rea and Lor spot a dwarf woman observing the crowd. She makes eye contact with Rea and rushes back into the theatre.
The party is greeted by a hush as they enter The Hunting Thief. The thrum of the crowd resumes after the new strangers have been assessed. The group finds a seat at a table.
Egnod, a local servant who works in the Silvere Hills, challenges the group to a drinking game in order to get free drink. Crow agrees to the challenge if Egnod will answer questions. Crow easily beats Egnod, and begins asking questions of the Foxgloves. Egnod is reluctant, but also speaks loudly enough to garner the attention a handful of patrons in the bar. One in particular, a dwarf names Skjoti approaches the table and orders them to leave. The order turns into a threat. The group decide to take the high road and walk away. Rea notices that they are followed all the way out of the Bend.
The group take the rest of the evening to learn how to play Portholes.
