Greensteel

Greensteel is an extremely durable, smeltable metal. It is usually green with thin parallel gold lines, resembling wood grain and circuitboards. The majority of the Shattered Isles are composed of greensteel slag and large fragments can be found throughout Tellucord. Greensteel is technically organic, although it is heavily arcano-infused. Greensteel is widely used due to its relatively low melting point. It originates on Telluvetus and is theorized by some to have been created by its former inhabitants. Greensteel emits a constant radiation that causes arcane mutation in organic life. These mutations are not well understood but a number of new species have evolved and others have been thoroughly transformed due to its influence. Greensteel also possesses the interesting quality of absorbing surrounding energy. When an energy source is housed in greensteel, the energy is used by the metal to generate a consciousness. This creates an Automata, although without a suitably motile housing, agency is limited.
