Act II | Chapter VI | A Stern Talking To Report

Following the bar fight at The Upturned Mountain in Chapter V, Rumble in the Upturned Mountain, the Fireball Party of Six reconvened at their home on the Grand Canal of Vecos. and had a good night's rest. The next morning, the man who Munia Ingens had turned away the night before returned. This man turned out to be Jaymus Rutter, an old friend of Jerome Thimble, who had been sent to speak with Gloria. Jaymus Rutter shared a (very forced) story about how when he was young he got stuck in with a bad crowd that led him to make some bad choices, and he warned Gloria not to do the same. Gloria asked him what he was on about, and Jaymus shared that Jerome and Gladys had heard outlandish tales of Gloria's escapades from their friend (and notorious informant) Diane Busybody. Gloria bribed Jaymus in the form of crêpes to only report "good things" to her parents; Jaymus seemingly obliged.

After Jaymus left, the Fireball Party of Six discussed/checked on the following:

• Gloria is worried about her parents concern for her, especially after talk with Jaymus. She wants to speak with them soon, both to lay their concerns to rest and solicit help from Pests in Control.
• Gloria was able to confirm that Dalius the Augur was taken away by Iben dan Giomo, one of the more powerful Merchant Lords of Vecos. The last time they visited The Perch, Dalius the Augur was still missing, and Pidg had yet to see him return.
• The party checked on the Memory of Utek, and found that it was still present in the house. However, they also discovered tiny foot and hand prints around the base of the safe they had ensconced it in. Munia Ingens seemed unsurprised by this.

At the end of the session, the Fireball Party of Six had a talk about the bugs in the basement that Munia Ingens had been cultivating. Some members of the party were concerned about the structural integrity of the house, the size of both the hole they had dug and the size of the bugs themselves, and their fascination with the Memory of Utek. Munia Ingens assured everyone that the bugs are completely harmless, and that they are just "reintroducing nature" into Vecos.
