Beginings

I've lived in the woods my whole life and do not know much about the world. All i know is what I've been told by my mother and father, mostly storys of my childhood but also some stories from their time.   I was a very quiet boy when i was young and because of this trait my father could easily go hunt with me on hes back from the time i was just 6 months old. The first words i spoke into this world was "shoot", as my dad had made advances towards a flock of game and was well within kill-shot range. Later that day when mother came back from the market and her day job as a pelt vendor my father told her of my first speaking experience, yet i did not say anything else for the rest of the day. Shortly they both realized i understood a lot more but choose not to speak unless i deemed it necessary.   When i grew older id help my father hunt and collect pelts for us to sell in the towns nearby market, we also had ways to communicate in the distance using different bird chirps and whistles.

The run in with the masked men

One day in the woods i ran into a band of oddly looking fellers who all had brown masks and they was on the ready so they made me almost instantly to my approach. They all drew weapons and surrounded me as i made a distress whistle to my father. They asked me a few questions if i knew where to find a ranger by the name of Fulminis and his companion Altum. I told them the truth and that I'd never heard of the name before and before i knew it my dad had flown out of the brush of the forrest and killed them all in a blink of an eye. I didn't recognize him at all, this was a side of him i had never seen before.   I asked both my mother and father about the men in the mask and who this Fulminis and Altum was but both of them was reluctant to give me any answers. After a while we kept on as usual except we never spent more than a few days on in the same spot before we moved on, at the time however i did not think any of this but just forgot about it all and continued with the happy hunting in the wild together with my family.

The end of what i knew

Many storms had passed and a few months, they came in the early morning as i was out picking mushrooms and berrys to make a simple breakfast before the daily hunt began and mother would head into town to set up shop. As i came back towards camp i saw both my mother and father tied up, by men wearing the same brownish mask and uniforms as the men i ran into before. One man dressed in a black instead of brown mask said loud -"I'ts long overdue but finally the time has come for you two traitors to settle your debt". as he pointed at my parents.     I tried to follow them as they left but they had horses and after a day of tracking it was like the trace of them had been washed away. Alone and scared i went back to my cart and gathered my thoughts before i decided that I'll simply have to help settle my parents debt to the masked men. But living has its expenses and so far I have not come any further than a few coins on the way.

About throwing flasks...

It wasn't hard to track down Duvlin, we managed to do it in just two days. He left some decently sized tracks when he was raging through the desert, smashed stones and huge streaks of sand pits all following a simple path towards the stonelike forest northeast of Mourmans-Pothole. On the way there I shot a druid with my longbow, and he was not too happy yet kind enough to forgive me. Yeah, it's a weird scenario I know but it just sort of happened. When we showed up to the heart of the stone forest we ran into him again and he asked us to not harm the core, I didn't understand what he meant until later. He also told us that there was a group of vandals there he wanted to get rid of and a young boy who shouldn't be there in case he got hurt.   So we keep on scouring the area, and we run into the vandal group first. In lack of better judgement, I figured we should surprise attack them while we ware talking and threw a flask of alchemist fire on the biggest one of them. It didn't work out too well since I just began the fighting at random and we had a hard time taking them down.   As we kept on going we came to the young boy and his trusted dog (a great one at that, smart loyal and active) who was there and tried to tell him it was not safe enough for him to be there, he refused to leave until he had the medicine he needed to save his mother, knowing how that feels I told him we would get it for him if he just stayed put. He agreed to it since he was obviously too strong to enter a fragile place like that. Haha, good lad reminds me of myself in those years.   So we headed to Duvlin in the center to deal with the matter at hand, and also possibly sneak a medicinal cactus into the inventory. Apparently, Duvlin was being consumed or consuming I don't know which, but he was one with the core of the stone forest and since we couldn't damage the core we simply had to let him be. He was kind enough to let us pick some cactus tough so we did that and went on our way, picked up the boy and began walking with him towards his hometown, he wouldn't let us at first but we then asked for him to protect us and he agreed. He even challenged Seth to a fight and we just held a duel between the two. I think the boy knows he got a rather slim chance of beating any of us but I really like that he is still up to try. I couldn't help it but i handed him the other bow I'd been using and slacked the string for it to fit him better, said id help him train and he is doing okay right now, gave him some of dad's old markings as well just to speed up the process for him and I think he can find his aim soon. Takes you back, looking at someone firing for the first time, I still remember how tedious it was before I figured it out. Feeling like you are doing everything like you did last time but still, the arrow finds a different target.   wonder where you guys are, hope you are well.

Change of plans.. we're going to Duvlin!

So we arrived at the Pothole, and it didn't take long before we saw Seven (the scary elf from before) and her gang of goons, we tryed to avoid them and successfully did for the first day of our stay. However we were spotted by them in the morning, they said we would either have to help them bring Duvlin (ether addict from before) back to them, or they would help us to our graves. Not facing much of a choice we picked the first of the two and set off to help them find Duvlin.   Yeah, that's right! I almost forgott, theres two more things that happened lately that was really interesting! First, we found an alchemist who I gave a bottle of bubbling liquid to, so he could get a fresh start. I only asked for half the price of what he thought it was worth and I also gave it to him on credit, he seemed very reliable. Cause like, what was i gonna do with it anyways? You dont just throw flasks at people.... No sane person would do that when u got a quiver of arrows. So he was really greatfull and said he was gonna meet us up at Dawnforge keep, apparently that's where fenrian is a part of an order of gem lovers or something, my guess is that they touch electric stones and get all hyped together but he said it was very different and had nothing to do with that. Guess we'll see.   For the second round of happenings. I hunted today! It was great, I was a bit sloppy on the engage but I got a good finish of it all so it felt balanced. I choose to stay up a bit and be the lookout for the rest of the group at night, and not far into the evening I head a growl nearby, it was a wild hyena who actually bit me quite good but when i got the turn on him I could just aim him down with the bow. I just finished up field dressing the big dog and I'm gonna cook him up for a nice start of the day tomorrow. Can't help to think of dad when I hunt, he wouldn't even have gotten bit. He is so fast! I miss him a lot at times like these...

Guess who's right?

I fucking atoldaso, I was right all along. The keep we are in is bad news, BAD news. Come to think of it its old news, still bad tough. So apparently the guy who lived here had befriended some sort of evil entity he was conversating with we found out by reading his journal. Not super surprised when we got to that point though since we had just passed through a series of rooms containing sacrifice rituals and dissecting tables. The basement of the keep also contained some huge weird crystal, something Fenrian paid a lot of interest to, why I don't fully understand yet but when he touches crystals like that its like he gains a huge energy boost. It doesn't seem healthy at all.   We spent a few days there trying to get back to where we came from since the weird castle/keep moving around every night, and also was only possible to enter or exit during night-time. Tricky stuff..... Anyways we are somewhat close to where we were before and are heading for Mourmans-pothole to later pick up the ether load and transport it back to the city, or if you ask me, bury it and tell the people in the town where to find it. No one ever does tough.... maybe a little, but I guess they still don't know me too well so perhaps it is just natural. Its probably going to be discussed again tough when we got the load in hand, I hope that discussion goes better.   on top of all this crap, I still got no news about mom or dad, I think about them every day.

the road to ones soul.

Ok.... Well.... A lot has happened since last. Me and this band of strangers managed to find the load of Ether and on the plus side we are not strangers anymore, however, a horde of orcs was the ones in possession of the caravans load and we had to take it back with force. This is not even the end of it, later on, in the night a storm started brewing, it almost collapsed the whole cave that we had found the orcs and the ether in.   Fearing for our lives we moved on out of the cave to find another shelter from the storm, we walked for quite a bit and found an old keep. Pretty certain the man who lived there called it the soul keep.... not sure yet, but I'm tired and its time to hit the sack. I got a baaaaaaad vibe in this place though...

The mission to retreve the caravan.

Good day today, i've come across a good opportunity to make some extra gold. This could go long ways towards paying for my parents release i think. I'ts hard to sell furs and pelts to make any real money i've notised, sure it sustains me but it does not yeald me alot to save.   Anyhow as i was working in the market today a young boy by the name of Ollie stole some coin from my wagon, poor kid was flat broke and was probably looking for anything to feed him for the day. During this incident i got help manageing the stand and also catching up to the theif by a band of strangers, they all seemed like deacent people at first glance so we decided to go for a drink after this goose chase but instead we ended up trying to help some construction workers find they're missing person. Sure enough we found the guy they ware looking for and he later told us that he was waiting for a shipment that had not arrived yet.   Intrigued by this opportunity i suggested to go look for the delivery in exchange for some coin, and the band of strangers was also eager to join in. Said and done we got hired to look for a caravan of sorts containing material to finish building a spire or a tower, im not really sertain exacly what they said the finished product was going to be but that doessnt really matter either.   So me and this band of strangers are currently on the road towards Mourmans Pothole, everyone seems to be in good spirits and one of the strangers by the name of seth i think seems to be of the same density as a walking pillow bareley leaving an imprint in the sand he walks on, i't must be some weird kind of magic..... I got an eye on him, dont worry mother.
