Creation of the Fey Wilds

FROM THE FIRST WHISPER OF MAGIC, THE WILDS AWOKE.
Long before gods walked the earth and mortals carved their histories, the Fey Wilds thrummed with life—a realm where magic flowed as freely as breath. In this boundless wilderness, the Elder Fey emerged, born from the untamed forces of nature, embodying the wild's raw power and beauty.   In those ancient days, the Fey Wilds were a place of limitless possibility, where the very land could shift with a thought and rivers of stardust flowed through forests of eternal twilight. Here, in the heart of the primordial wilds, the seeds of Seraphine’s story were sown—a tale of creation not by design, but by the will of those who called this sacred realm their home.

The Primordial Fey Wilds

In the ancient myths passed down through generations, long before the gods of Tavomia walked the earth, there was the Fey Wilds—a place of untamed magic and endless possibility. The Fey Wilds were not created by mortal hands, nor by the gods; they existed from the very beginning, a place where nature was unbound, and the very essence of magic flowed freely.   According to the legends, the Fey Wilds were the home of the Elder Fey, primordial beings who embodied the raw power and beauty of the wilds. These Elder Fey were born from the magic of the Fey Wilds itself, their forms shaped by the natural forces around them. Among these ancient beings were Dianus, the Summer Queen, and Lir, the Winter King, whose union would bring forth the most powerful being the world had ever known: Seraphine.

The Birth of Seraphine

In the tales told by the Druids and sages, Seraphine, the Mother of All, was not just a creator but the child of the Elder Fey. Born from the union of Dianus and Lir, Seraphine came into being with gifts far beyond any other Fey. She was a being of immeasurable power, able to shape the wilds around her with her will alone.   From the moment of her birth, Seraphine was destined to wield the magic of the Fey Wilds in ways that none of her kin could. The stories tell of how, as a child of the wilds, Seraphine roamed the untamed lands, her presence bringing new life to the Fey Wilds. Wherever she walked, forests grew denser, rivers flowed stronger, and creatures of myth and legend were born from her imagination.

The Shaping of the Fey Wilds

Though the Fey Wilds had existed before Seraphine, it was through her immense power that the realm began to take on new shapes and forms. Seraphine’s touch expanded the Fey Wilds, bringing order to the chaos and creating new creatures to inhabit the realm. It is said that she created beings of unimaginable wonder—majestic beasts, whimsical spirits, and creatures that reflected both the beauty and the danger of the wilds.   The tales passed down speak of Seraphine’s joy in creation. As she explored the vast expanses of the Fey Wilds, she used her gifts to sculpt the land, bending it to her will. Her playful nature is reflected in the creatures she brought forth—great heroes with impossible powers, and strange, mysterious beings that could shift their forms like the wind.   To mortals, Seraphine is remembered as both a child of the Fey and a shaper of worlds. Her influence on the Fey Wilds is felt in every corner of the realm, where her magic still lingers in the forests, rivers, and mountains.

The Elder Fey: Seraphine’s Family

The Elder Fey, who had existed long before Seraphine’s birth, took on new roles after her arrival.   Dianus, The Summer Queen became her mother, nurturing and guiding her as she grew in power. Dianus’s warmth and joy are reflected in the vibrant, life-filled places of the Fey Wilds, where the sun shines brightest and the land flourishes.   Lir, The Winter King served as both protector and teacher, instilling in Seraphine the importance of balance and patience. While Dianus brought life and warmth, Lir reminded Seraphine of the necessity of winter’s cold touch—a time for reflection and the preservation of the natural order.   Mother Adranath, the wisest of the Elder Fey, became Seraphine’s grandmother and the keeper of stories and knowledge. In the myths, Adranath is revered as the oldest living being in existence, having witnessed the birth of the world and the coming of Seraphine. She preserved the history of the Fey Wilds, ensuring that the tales of Seraphine’s deeds would never be forgotten.

Elder Fey Lineage

Dianus and Lir, the first of Seraphine’s family, are ancient beyond measure.
The Elder Fey are more than just powerful beings; they are the first companions of Seraphine, born from her imagination and emotion. The lineage of the Elder Fey is deeply rooted in the magic of the Fey Wilds, with each Fey embodying a piece of Seraphine’s consciousness. Dianus and Lir, often called her parents, were the first to guide and protect her, while others like Adranath preserved her memories. This lineage shaped the early Fey Wilds, with each Fey contributing to the dream’s growth.

Echoes of Childhood

Sometimes, if you listen carefully, you can hear a child’s laughter on the wind.
Seraphine’s influence lingers throughout the Fey Wilds in subtle, playful ways. Many enchanted groves and rivers that flow with starlight are said to carry echoes of her youthful joy. Some Fey scholars believe that, in certain places, remnants of her playful spirit can still be felt—a warm breeze, a soft hum, or flowers blooming in vibrant colors. These fleeting moments remind the Fey of a time before the gods, when their realm was a place of pure wonder.

The Elders' Council

The Elder Fey, even in their whimsy, gather to guide the wilds.
Though the Fey Wilds may seem chaotic, the Elder Fey maintain order in their own way. They gather in council to deliberate on matters that affect the realm, though their decisions are often driven by emotion and instinct rather than logic. Dianus and Lir lead the councils during their respective seasons, while Adranath oversees all, offering wisdom from the ages. These councils decide how the Fey interact with mortals and maintain balance between light and shadow in the Fey Wilds.
