Lómëanor
Dream Weavers
Keepers of Vision and Voice
The Lómëanor were the second tribe to emerge from Mindonessë. They were a smaller group compared to the Valaraith, numbering only 2,300. However, what they lacked in numbers, they made up for in their profound connection to nature and the unseen world. They chose to settle in the deep forests of Neldorath, where the spirits of nature were most alive and present. It was here they founded the city of Galadrimor, nestled among the roots and canopies of ancient trees. The Lómëanor became renowned for their artistic and mystical inclinations, and their unique ability to weave dreams and visions. This gift allowed them to act as seers and interpreters of the spirit world, often channeling messages through song, movement, or imagery. Their deep communion with nature made them exceptional healers, utilizing herbs and forest-born ingredients to treat ailments of both body and spirit.“To dream beneath leaf and starlight is to hear the forest remember.”Their spiritual practices included rituals held at moonrise, trance-dances beneath starlight, and the casting of “whispers”—ritual objects said to carry messages into the hidden realm. They believed the forest listened, and so they spoke softly, sang often, and walked with reverence.
Harmony Over Ambition
In their hands, nature became adornment. The Lómëanor were also master craftsmen, creating delicate pieces of jewelry, clothing, and sacred objects. Their artistry reflected the forest’s beauty: leaves of silver-thread, bark-carved talismans, and silken robes embroidered with constellations seen through the trees. They crafted not merely for beauty, but for balance—each piece a gesture of harmony with the world around them. Despite their mystical focus, the Lómëanor were not isolationist. They maintained warm ties with the Valaraith, and their exchanges of goods often included not only material wares, but stories, songs, and herbal knowledge. Still, they remained anchored in the quiet heart of the forest, venturing outward only when the wind or stars beckoned. To the Elenathor as a whole, the Lómëanor offered something essential: balance. Where the Valaraith pushed the boundaries of knowledge, the Lómëanor reminded them of roots. Where others reached outward, they turned inward. It was their teachings—quiet, enduring, and often overlooked—that would one day form the spiritual foundation for the Namáriëa Elenathor, the Reconciliation of Tribes.“The river carves no crown, yet it shapes the land.”Their legacy is one of silence and song, of moss-covered stone and whispered prayers. They left little behind in stone or script, but in every glade that still sings, in every dream that lingers past dawn, their presence endures.
Crafts of the Lómëanor
Starlace WeavingA rare textile technique where threads of spider silk and moonflower fibers are woven under starlight. Only those with strong spiritual attunement can produce fabric that shimmers with a faint iridescence. Starlace is often used for ceremonial robes or dream shrouds.
“You don’t weave the light—you wait for it to settle into the threads.”Spirit-Wood Carving
Certain trees in Neldorath are said to whisper if approached in silence. From these, fallen branches are gathered and carved into amulets, flute-bells, and ceremonial tools. Each carving is unique, shaped to reveal the natural grain rather than alter it. It is said a true Spirit-Wood carving hums faintly during rainstorms.
