Greenhue Flats

South of the Twinpeak River, where the wild heathers give way to wide horizons and drier winds, lie the Greenhue Flats—a sprawling, sun-drenched grassland that rolls gently toward the eastern river borders. Though part of the same great highland belt as Heatherhaven to the north, the Flats are softer, lower, and more open, shaped by long seasons of sun and sparse rain.   The landscape here is marked by pale golden grasses and open skies, with occasional bursts of color from resilient flowering plants and the coats of animals that call this land home. The Greenhue Gazelle, fleet and luminous, moves in loose herds across the plain. Their pale hides reflect the sunlight in such a way that they often appear to shimmer from a distance. Stalking the edges, the Heatherwolf sometimes crosses down from the northern moors, following prey into the more exposed lowlands.   Unlike the moors, the Flats offer enough ease of passage for the occasional hunter's camp or grazing outpost, though permanent settlements remain rare. The grasses grow too thin for reliable farming, and the river—though close—is often too low to sustain irrigation on a large scale. Still, the region is not without life.   Along the Silvertide River, which marks the eastern boundary of both the Flats and the Moors, small trade outposts have formed. These serve as crossroads between mountain mining trails, wildland hunters, and scholars who come to observe the local flora and fauna. Some seek glimpses of the Silvertide Panther, a rare and reclusive predator known to hunt the riverbanks at dusk. Others come to hear the high, spiraling song of the Silversong Sparrow, whose calls echo across the dry plains with uncanny clarity.   For those who pass through the Greenhue Flats, the land offers a quiet kind of welcome—not lush, but wide and watchful. It is a place where thoughts travel far, and where each breath carries dust, distance, and the golden hush of the wind.
