The End Times

In the beliefs of the Nordervolk, the time left on Tascallon is limited. Their legends and soothsayers tell that at some point in the future, near or far, the Dread Wolf will find a way to Hangatyr's corpse and supp upon it. This is what their stories call The End Times: an age of strife and the final conflict between mortals, their gods, and the unending hunger of Otti. The people of The Fylkirate of Northmen build their warrior culture around preparation for this era, believing that cultivating the strongest and most honorable of fighters will lead mortalkind to victory.
There are some signs of the approach of The End Times. The Fylkir himself will begin speaking in tongues, the first signs of Hangatyr possessing them. Oceans will turn blood red, a sign of Otti gnawing at the corpse world. Demons will appear in droves, looking to pick up the scraps of god flesh that Otti will leave behind.
The final battle will culminate between the possessed Fylkir and Otti, Hangatyr's power amplified by the strength of his followers and the purity of their resolve. Should the Fylkir be triumphant, Otti will be slain and turned into a new world all over again: one without an existential threat looming over it, where mortals can truly be safe forever. A new paradise where mortals will be free to choose their own paths, and not have need of any protection is Hangatyr's ultimate goal. Though if those who follow him lack the strength of both body and mind, if their faith is lacking, the Fylkir will fall to Otti's teeth. And when he does, everything else will be devoured as well.
