Korvaf Baruntacht

A lowland region nestled between the Frigvold Glaciers and the Budthorn Forest to the east and west respectively. The lands nestled here, fed by the Tiber and running along the coast of the Glacial Sea, are about as hospitable as one can hope in a tundra. Under the control and guidance of a sickly Fiolag and his firebrand of a son, the region waits with bated breath, unsure of what to entirely expect once their old, ill leader passes on to the judgement and care of the Ascended. To see what plans his firebrand of a son has, for he is a risk taker. So curiosity, concern, excitement all line the political scene within this Baruntacht, as they wait for their ancient lord to fall.

Geography

CITIES/TOWNS:

Thornbank: (8114): The principal settlement of the region, and the seat of the Korvaf family and their governing power, this busy river port is the 'gatekeeper' of the north west river systems, and as such, a strong naval presence is stationed here. The lumber industry that is growing, runs through here as well, and recently three paper mills have opened, producing papers and parchments of various types. Two large publishing houses operate here as well, competing of course, as one would expect. Culturally, literature is cheap here, as much is printed here, and as such, the folk whom call this town home are rather well read, and many even read casually, for enjoyment.

Buckthorn Station: (5172): A busy town as well, a smoky railway town, one known for their machinists, skilled workers whom make the various specialized parts for the locomotives. Indeed this is the home of the main union hall, and the Machinist Guild Trading Collegiate, where one can seek the education for such a prestigious trade. The rail workers are kept well busy by the numerous and varied metal shipments coming from all over to keep these important craftsmen busy. Not just iron, of course, for there are components of copper, iron, gold, and even tacturnium for some key structural parts that are kept under high stress during operation.

Frigval: (3412): This northern garrison town is the central cog for trade and protection of the few villages in this region. Its railyard is a military operation, with only one terminal for civilian passenger use or commerce. The town sees plentiful raids from beasts within the Frigvold Glaciers and the men and women stationed here, even if green when they arrive, do not stay green for very long. As to why people choose to live around here, well the fishing is excellent and there is wealth in large supplies of food and fish oil.
